Good printer. Versatile and accurate. Downside: Can't mix photo paper with regular letter paper, without picking up at least two sheets of letter paper. Always separate papers. I am on my third unit now.

Artisan 810 is a winner!

After some very frustrating hours getting my MacBook Pro (OS 10.6 Snow Tiger) to be able to wirelessly scan on the 810, I came across a third party post that solved the problem on the first try. It doesn't say much for your owner's manual, Epson. After that, the 810 was absolutely flawless. I would buy it all over again, even with the so-called manual. It's also a really good buy, especially if you time your purchase to one of Epson's frequent sales. All-in-all, I rate the 810 a 10. I rate the manual a 6. Buy this all-in-one.

Great machine

This printer does all that it claims. The speed is fast, the color photos are excellent and the restore function works wonders with old pictures. I use printer on a network and set-up was very simple.

Feeding my Fear

After a couple of years of frustration at my Epson R320 printer's stubborn refusal to reliably feed everyday normal paper, I was reluctant, despite my loyalty to Epson's superior photo printing, to replace it with another Epson printer. However, I was captivated by the Artisan 810's match for the features I wanted. Crisp professional looking photo prints, memory card ports, automatic two-sided (duplex) printing, direct CD/DVD printing, and auto document feeder for the copy/scan/fax features. All was well for about 60 days, but then without warning the document feeder began to refuse to completely feed documents. It pulls the sheet partway in, but now fails 100% of the time when it attempts to advance the sheet across the scanning bed. Epson agreed to replace the printer, but with only 60 days of use from a printer I expected to last for years, I am once again skeptical about Epson reliability in its feeding mechanisms. The R320 problem I illustrated in my opening comments is well documented on the web.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

We have used most of the features, and find that they are great. 100% better than the one were using. I can now get rid of my old printer an scanner. Our son uses one of these units and he got us one for Christmas. I am sure we will get a lot done with it.

This is my first Epson printer. The ease and quality of printing is outstanding! I am no "techy" so easy is what I have to have. It also looks nice on my table!

Overall the printer is satisfactory. Print is comparable to other inkjets. However I bought this because it was supposed to print directly from the iphone. This is only partly true. It will print pictures but not documents etc. only pictures. Had I known this before I purchased the printer I would have passed.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
