no heavy paper

this printer will not print card stock of 110 lbs. which includes business card stock. I'm even having trouble printing less heavy papers, such as brochure paper.

Just unboxed it an hour ago and have printed several CDs. Good quality and good software. Pro look and accurate right out of the box.

A Little Disappointed

I have owned and used Epson printers for many years and they are well-known for doing an excellent job printing photos and graphics. As a former graphic designer, but especially as a currently extremely busy Mom and small business owner (piano teacher), I am disappointed in the Artisan 810. While it was easy to setup and connect wirelessly to my system, and I like the touch screen, it's got a major flaw. I recently needed to print graphics for an event I was involved in, and found, to my disappointment, that this printer will not print on vellum (transparent specialty paper). I should have set aside more time to do research about this printer, instead of assuming it would be able to use it. This is a very common type of paper (often used in invitations, scrapbooking, and business materials), and I was informed by Epson customer support that putting it through the printer may even damage the printer. I have not yet looked into using card stock or any other type of paper other than standard stock or photo paper, but am a little wary that it will be able to handle it. It's fast, and does a great job with photos, but I could have just bought a photo printer if that's all I needed to do. Also, the paper tray and paper "catcher" are made of extremely thin plastic that seem very flimsy. I have not yet had a problem with this, but don't let my children even think about touching it, and am holding my breath that nothing breaks if I touch it the wrong way. Think carefully about your needs (and hobbies or business requirements) before you purchase this printer.

ARTISAN 810 LIVES UP

The Epson Artisan 810 was the third Epson printer I've purchased and it has lived up to my high expectations for a printer. Into photography, quality prints are a must but this printer also makes printing ON a DVD and CD easy and professional looking. Set up can be challenging BUT the Epson support is right there to talk you through the process if help is needed. Fine product.
