Unpacked, plugged in, followed instructions and printed test page. Loaded 4x6 photo paper, inserted CF and printed several photos, good result except a couple had ghost image of print test lines. Re-entered mode and it went away. Haven't tried scanning yet. Don't expect issue if this feature follows print/FAX experience.

Meets all of my needs

I've had my Artisan 810 for almost 2 weeks now and so far, I'm very happy with it. I haven't yet connected the fax or used the DVD label print function, but everything else works nicely. I set it up wirelessly and so far there have been no glitches. I also downloaded the iPad iPrint app and can print from my iPad. (Note that it is mainly to print photos, but you can print a document or a web page by taking a screen shot.) The instructions are not in the manual, but I found them on the Epson website.
I'm using it on a Mac running Snow Leopard and it took me a little while to figure out how to get the scanner running (in SL you can't scan directly from the control panel.) The Epson scanner driver wasn't installed with the install CD. I called Apple and they told me how to get the Mac SL Image Capture to work, but I knew that the Epson Scan had more features so I called Epson and they were very helpful. They pointed me to the right scanner software to install on their site and now it works fine. I have also like the automatic feeder for scanning.
My only criticisms are, as many others have said, the paper tray seems flimsy and while the photo print quality is very good, it is hard to determine when 4x6 photo paper is loaded correctly. My first photo print was smeared and had some double imaging probably because it was not placed correctly. I feel like I'm working in the dark trying to get the small paper in correctly. That is the reason I gave it 4 rather than 5 stars.

This is a great printer, copier, scanner for everyday use. The only downside is the rather flimsy paper exit tray.

It is still pretty new but we got it enstalled easily!! Now we are exploring all it has to offer, as it seems to offer a whole lot more than I had expected! I hope it lasts a good long time....

New Printer

I just bought my Epson Artisan 810 All-in-One Printer today from Staples. I am always a little nervous purchasing printers as I have not always had the best of luck with this item. I hope to send more reviews as I get to know it better. I will, however start with this..........It was very easy to set up and connect to the wireless connection and the fax......thank you for that. Loading the paper was simple enough. I have not yet tried the paper feed, however I have printed out some 4x6 pictures and the print quality is great. It does seem a little louder then most while setting up for the print.....the dog jumped up from a sleep. Anyway, so far I am a happy customer.

Slowest printer ever !

The first sheet, or two, takes minutes to print. Not seconds, minutes. The quality, etc, is great, it is just a hastle to wait minutes to print a quick page in black and white. Recommend you look elsewhere.

Very impressed with this printer. The color and photo quailty of the prints are great. I like the functionality of the machine! The CD printer mechanism is more efficient than previous CD printers & the quality of the print is great. The scanner does great and is very quite. I recommend this printer for anyone looking for a great printer scanner combo for a good price.

Just got the printer. Replaced my Canon MP980 with this model. Was not satisfied with photos from Canon, although Canon was quieter. Photos look great and I like all the features of this printer. Seems a little slow in response compared to Canon.
