Piece of junk

Poor build quality, squeaks even though brand new, drops from network all the time, beeps relentlessly, it is a piece of junk. Went in the garbage with less that 100 pages printed. Will not EVER buy an epson product of any kind again.

Just got my printer two weeks ago and abosolutely love it. Can not believe how easy it is to use and how quickly it prints. The scanner feature works fantastic and is so much faster than my old one. Haven't had a chance to print many photos but from what I've done so far it is wonderful. Love it.

Set-up was the simplest wireless set-up I've ever experienced. Print quality is great. I do wish, though, that scan to PC were available in Snow Leopard.

I bought this to replace my last Epson printer because of the improved CD/DVD tray. I am so happy that this tray is permanently attached which should eliminate the tray problem I had with my last Epson printer. Too bad I have to push a button after I put the CD on the tray though. It would be nice if the tray retracted itself when a CD was put on it. Now if only I had Wi_fi so I could print wirelessly. That's a nice feature - too bad I can't test it. Haven't had the machine long enough to write much, but I have printed several DVDs.

I was looking forward to getting an Epson printer, but straight out of the box I had problems. Even though it said the install was complete, the printer which is less than 4 feet away could not be found. I eventually got the printer working but not via the Epson Setup utility. However, I never found a way around the fact that the scanner can't be found. So no scanner. I feel fortunate that the copier and fax work.
Maybe it's because I have a Mac. My husband has PC and has had no problems. But that's still disappointing.

Design: Modern, and functional. The only thing I worry about is how long the hinge will work on the control panel. There is a lock button to adjust it, but hopefully other people will observe that too.
Printing: Printing is very fast. Some people complained about it being noisy. It is a tad noisy when using the automatic dcument feeder. Scanning is very quiet and printing is fine too. Be sure to use the paper holder because it will literally spit out your print job.
Software: The software is EXCELLENT!
Networking: SUPER Easy to setup no matter which way you use (IE) Ethernet/Wireless.
Documentation: I gave it a 4 of 5 stars, because the documentation is lacking somewhat and the online manual is in HTML form, not a downloadable PDF.
Overall this seems like a great product and looking forward to many quality prints.

I spent a lot of time researching which all in one would be best for my family and The Epson Artisan 810 was it. It's easy to use and set up. It does an amazing job printing pictures. Having 2 college students in one house we seem to be using it all the time.
