Great Purchase

Set up directions for this product were outstanding. I was able to get everything working without calling for technical support. I immediately printed out three 8 by 10 prints. Colors were beautiful. My printer is connected to my computer via my wireless network. No problems getting that to work. I knew my network name and had my web key. Setup did the rest. I have also used the scanner and emailed a document. I have not used the fax nor any of the other fun things you can do to make cards etc. I am very pleased with my new printer.

I just bought my Artisan 810 and the package doesn't contain nearly enough info. No software, no mention of operating the CD writing portion (this is why I bought it), and not much literature, so I'm not too impressed at the moment.

Terrific buy! Easy to set up and use. Wireless printing could not be any easier. I was up and running in a matter of minutes. The print quality is superior to what I've used before and the overall cost of the printer and supplies blows away using 3rd party services.
Thanks, Epson, for a really great product offering!

very loud and takes time in preparation to print but once it starts it is fast, so when you add it all together....?. scan is much faster than what i had, and with all epson printers the ink seems to be used up very fast

My printer Replacement Project
on August 4, 2010

After moving to a Windows 7 platform in Janurary I discovered my printers were either not supported or minimumly supported. Those printers were a Canon MP780 and an Epson photo stylus 960. I finally settled on the Artisan 810 because of all it offered coupled with the reputation of Epson products.
I have now used this printer for about 3 weeks and I'm amazed at the brilliance of photos printed on Epson paper but am disappointed that Kodak paper, that I have, produces less than acceptable prints. The ink usage seems to be high but I am still using the cartridges that were included in the box. I wanted an all in one that was wireless so I would not have a problem with sharing a printer with other computers using Windows XP and the Artisan 810 seems to do well as I have no problem printing from other locations. I also print CD/DVDs and the 810 produces great results yet the Print CD program seems slow to start.
The online prices of consumables from the Epson site are expensive but I have found there are many places where the same products can be purchased for much less. I would suggest to Epson that they re-evaluate the necessity to make maximum profit on those products. I should be able to register my product and then purchase my consumables from Epson at prices competitive with or at a slight discount over other vendors of Epson products.
I also would hope this printer's jets don't clog up when use is very light for a month or so like other Epsons I have used in the past.

I have only had my AiO printer a few days now but I printer a group of photos and they turned out great. Colors were sharp and clear and the speed was more than I expected.
I use Quicken 3 on a sheet checks and when I have tried to print the last check on the sheet it doesn't feed straight and the check has to be reprinted. Also I will have to get use to loading my checks face down, I have printed some checks on the back of the sheet.

Good, but perhaps not great

The 810 is an exquisite all in-in-one, but having real trouble to get it to print on both sides and to print in reverse. I install the software associated with the Apple OS10.6 software, but still can't get it to work...shouldn't be that hard. Also the setting should be able to be set on a default so you don't have to reset it every time, at least certainly the reverse printing that puts the first page on top.

all my other epson printers came with all the cords and connections, needed to reuse the usb cable from my old printer. fairly easy to set up. printed excellent photos.
shipped to me in only 3 days.
Would like to see printers that continue to use the older ink cartridges, it seems such a waste to have to get rid of new ink cartridges just because the printer stops working. Especially for those of us that have to order our inks on line and then can't send them back.
