Excellent printer, but . . .

I have been using my new Artisan 810 printer for a bit over a week and have found that it does most things very well. The only negative is that the advertising hype doesn't tell the whole truth.
I assumed that double sided printing as mentioned in the brochures, meant that I could put a document in the copier and the printer would print both sides. Not so; the two sided printing has to be initiated from the computer. Once I found that out, I found that it does a great job of automatically printing several pages on both sides of one sheet of paper from the computer, but won't copy both sides of a document which means that if you have a 25 page document printed on both sides of the page you have to manually feed and collate the pages.
The second disappointment was that while the printer does a really good job of restoring photos, such as a color photo that's been left in the sun and faded, it only does it on a 5" X 7" page: not on a letter size sheet of photo paper. True you can try to restore a photo by scanning it into the computer and then trying to correct it by printing it, but it does less than a stellar job using that method.
Other than those two points, so far I have found the printer to be everything and more than I expected. I also found the tech support staff very willing to help and the amazing thing was that I could understand them.

I've had this printer for two months and it has generally worked well. My only complaint has been that the two sided printing suddenly be came unavailable to my Macintosh. This has been a ongoing problem and so far no suggestion of substance from Epson has been received so far. My PC laptop can consistintly access the double sided option. The printing is otherwise quite good and the auto selection of the appropriate paper from the paper trays is a great feature.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Excellent equipment

The Epson Artisan 810 is an excellent machine, it makes an excellent copy of your discs, the fax feature is superb, and the ink that uses this equipment is the best, claria ink for excellent photos, prints and faxes. epson makes excellent printers that i reccomend anybody to prove it and to purchase it.
I would recommend this to a friend!

i don't like this printer maybe i used like 20 times and i need to buy another cartdrige so, i think this printer es good but expensive veri expensive.

All In One Does Everything Well

I have used every function available with the 810 Artisan with excellent results and no failures. I am most impressed with the length of time the #98 individual ink cartridges last. The printing is always sharp and the photos are beautiful. I have recommended this product to others because I know what this printer does and can do. Great product!

Wireless set-up was simple and has been working great. Printer is on other side of room and don't have to worry about cables.
Print quality is excellent. Printing to DVD's works flawlessly.
Scans wirelessly and colors are more accurate than previous scanners I've owned.

I've only had it a couple days but so far it is excellent. It's quite noisy but so was my old Epson dot matrix printer that was built like a tank! It also makes strange sounds when not in use but I guess that's part of the drill. This my third Epson printer and I have been quite happy with all of them and would definitely recommend this or the other Epson printers whole-heartedly.
