Epson Came Through

This all-in-one is the best printer I have ever used. The print quality is excellent, the speed of printing is exceded by none. The duplex feature worked beyond my wildest expectations. It printed a five page full color booklet, front and back, in less than 1.5 minutes. The photo color printing is exact and concise. The ink cartidges can print about 100 full color 8x11 copies before running low. I like the ability to monitor the amount of ink continuously. The ink monitor doesn't "lie" to me about when it is time to purchase new ink. The photo processing program is easy to follow from download to print. The scanner and copier work efficiently and without problems.

Inkjet printing has come a LONG way!

Recall the days of streaky ink jet prints that faded and ran if they got a drop of moisture on them? Well, the 810 is none of that. Prints are totally amazing and they don't smear/run!
This unit is very fast for plain text, super fast for color on plain paper, and the photos are so amazing you don't care how long they take. But, they don't really take that long. Print quality is simply the best I have ever seen from any printer including professional photo printing labs. Also, the paper handling system for photo paper works well though it feels a bit on the flimsy side. But no jams and no mis-feeds so far.
Setup was easy for the printer side connecting to our G network with no drama. However, the Windows drivers have no ability to specify the printer's IP address so if your computer and printer are on different segments of your network your computer won't be able to find the printer and won't install the drivers correctly. Much manual work was needed to figure out an (undocumented) way to make this work. This is not that uncommon in a SOHO setting these days and Epson should have made their software smart enough to accommodate this. Also, when on different segments the drivers can't, for some reason, tell you how much ink is left. I hope they choose to correct these issues in the next release of the drivers.

Nice Features But Complex & Will It Last?

I first bought this all-in-one in November and in April it failed completely. Would not copy, print, etc. Before returning it to Epson, I put everything back in the original box (I save all boxes during the warranty period) and the store graciously gave me an even exchange.
The new one still has then excellent features I wanted, but there are issues. The print options are so numerous and unclear (and everything defaults to the ink-eating "normal" or "photo" setting unless one overrides them) that I believe there is too much needless information and too many choices in the inital "Preferences" menus.
The display panel is great, but why it needs a push-button to release it or change the viewing angle is beyond me. It's easy to forget and risk damage.
The replacement unit has "forzen" twice and could only be reset by unplugging for 30+ seconds. This worries me about futurre durability.
Print quality (except for the lowest) is very good to excellent, and both text and photos look very good.
In sum, I like it, find features like print-to-CD innovative and useful, but have doubts about its durability.

It's the BEST!

I've gone through lots of printers, and this one is wonderful. The colors on the photos that I have printed are vibrant. It was easy to get onto my network and I can print from my iPhone. I am extremely happy with the quality and ease.
I had an ADF problem at one point, and the customer service I received from Epson was outstanding. I got a new printer from them in no time at all. They are a pleasure to deal with and future printers will be Epson's as well.

Wish I'd Bought It Earlier

This is the second Epson printer I've purchased, and I wish I had bought the 810 earlier. I really liked the 310 I bought first, and there was nothing wrong with it, but I really wanted an "all-in-one" and this is tremenous. The set-up directions made everything very easy, the printing is fabulous, the options are beyond my expectations. Thank you for your fabulous products!!!

Only one minor complaint

The printer was set up and running in short order. The OBE was great. The only complaint I have is common to many printers. The output tray seems flimsy and it does not slide easily when expanding and retracting.

Stone age printing

This printer is the slowest I have encountered since last year. When it does print, the quality is not bad. My pictures get stuck in the auto feeder. The DVD printer works but don't know how to print closer to the middle hole. More than 10 pages get jammed. Wish I could return it. I waited too long to use it.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
