Epson A810

This is my first multifunctional printer/copier/fax/scanner. I always used single function equipment, but space and the economics made this a necessary choice. The set-up for wireless networking was easy and it works well with all the computers. I based my decision to buy Epson on the dependability of my Epson 4990 scanner, and after 4 months I have no regrets

Wish it was better

You have a really good product. The copies & photos are
excellent :) I only wish the paper tray (holder) and the
paper tray (rest) were not so cheaply made. They are very poorly constructed & difficult to keep from jaming.
Other than the paper tray I love your product.

Standard but love the double-sided printing

I gave this product four stars because I really like the double-sided printing. The biggest problem for me is the flimsy paper tray. I recycle paper a lot so every time I use recycled paper or pre-printed paper, I have to pull out the tray, which I think will fall apart in no time. (Comparing this product with my Espon Workforce 600, I now realize that I much prefer a top-load paper feeder.) The printer also randomly grabs two sheets at a time, and I use a range of paper from cheap paper to presentation quality paper (and sometimes light cardstock).
I recently printed a few sheets of black and white photos on photo quality paper, which was disastrous. The ink bled everywhere like small teardrops - wasted so much ink!
The printing quality is fine, but the Workforce prints much better on a high-quality setting. The Artisan is not terrible; it prints pretty fast, it doesn't seem to run out of ink all the time, and the double-sided printing is great. However, I probably wouldn't purchase another Artisan, and I bought this with a great deal by Epson.

Epson all in one 810

I like most everything about the printer so far except the paper tray is flimsy and heavier stock paper jams quite often. I haven't used the fax or copy options yet.
This is a refurb. and the price was right, so I really can't complain. Wish the paper tray worked a little better, I haven't used photo paper on it yet and that is usually as thick as the stock that is jamming?

DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!

This printer is absolutely worthless.
It does not feed paper easily - especially not special sizes. The print quality, even on BEST PHOTO setting is blurry. It needs constant maintenance - head alignment, nozzle check, etc.
The ink is way too expensive and doesn't last long enough.
Overall, unacceptable.
Please don't waste your money like I did.

An almost perfect printer

It prints CDs. It prints over the network, including via WiFi. It prints over bluetooth. The output is beautiful in photo mode, and quite serviceable on lesser jobs. It prints duplex, envelopes, labels, and more.
So what’s not to like? Well, I have some medium weight card stock that won’t feed, but most inkjets won’t so that’s no big deal. The real disappointment is that the Artisan 810 just shreds Avery Clean Edge cards, particularly the business card size. I use these cards for a variety of purposes, and the printer just chews them up and spits them out (if you’re lucky). If you’re not lucky, you’re going to spend 20 minutes digging confetti out of your printer very carefully.
Is it a problem? Well, kind of. My templates using the Avery cards are all custom-made and include cut lines (and I do have a quality paper cutter that takes very little more time and effort than using the perforations), but I have a large supply of the Avery stock I just can’t use with this printer.
I don’t know if there’s a market for it, but Epson could pretty easily produce a rear feed hopper to replace the duplexer that would almost certainly avoid the problem—my last printer had both a paper tray and a hopper. I’d never put cards in the tray for fear they’d suffer the fate one observes with the Artisan 810.
An otherwise perfect product with one limitation I find personally irritating. Otherwise, you will not regret this printer.
