I got everything I wanted in a printer plus more at a reasonable price. I've used it for several months and it hasn't been using up the color ink as fast as other printers that I've purchased. It prints very nice pictures!!

My last two printers only lasted about two years each before having issues and they were both popular models from a well known brand. They took up tons of space on my hard drive, slowed the boot-up process and I never liked the software.
After a few months of use, this printer is much better than I anticipated. Easy to understand and use--just very friendly. Time will tell if it ends up being reliable over the long haul.
I've had only one issue to date. Sometimes it feeds more than one sheet of paper at a time. Could be the heavyweight paper that I have reams of.

Good, Solid Printer

I just got this printer today after spending many hours researching for just the right one. The thing is, everything went smooth when I was installing the operating disk and setting up the printer but, once it was done and the printer screen indicated my wireless signal was up and strong, I assumed printing was ready to go - not so. Apparently, the printer and my laptop were not communicating. I tried re-installing the operating disk and it still won't communicate, so, I have to "hook up" to my wireless printer in order to print - go figure! Otherwise, I'm totally into this printer and I'm sure I can figure out the wireless issue - eventually.

At first glance I was impressed. Then I got it operating, and I like it. The big reason I settled for this unit was the cd/dvd direct printing ability. While the documentation isn't very good at this, I did find the cd/dvd printing plate, and it is good. I also like the software for the cd printing, as it includes the coverinserts and the ability to scan and paste to print. All in all, Well worth the buy

Color smears and paper feed Problems
on February 11, 2011

Prints on High Gloss Heavy photo paper have color smears. On repeated prints, the smears are in the same places, sometimes larger and sometimes smaller. Tried printing same image with same paper on my other printer, with beautiful results. The paper used was NOT made by Epson. If this is a problem, I would like to know why! The smears do not appear on plain white paper.
Also, sometimes, had to load only one sheet to prevent printing about 2 inches on one sheet and the rest of the image on a second sheet.
However, when the printer does work correctly, the images are magnificant. Everything else works great, and the wireless operation was easy to setup. If the smear can be fixed, it is probably the best printer that I have ever owned.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

We are using this as a wireless printer in our motorhome. The print quality and photo quality from the printer are outstanding! The printer was easy to set up and use. It took about 15 minutes to get everything up and running! This is my second Epson printer in over 10 years. We have an RX620 at our home base that still works like the day we bought it. I would recommend using 24 pound copy paper in the printer to eliminate potential paper jams.We are VERY satisfied with the Artisan 810 printer.

Epson makes a great product and the 810 is no exception. The out-of-the-box setup documentation for Windows 7 64-bit is terrible. Spent several hours trying to locate the drivers and what I downloaded still did not work properly.

I don't know what I could suggest to improve this printer! Photo prints are superb. Set up for going wireless was easier than expected. I had to network with Mac computers as well as PC. It diagnosis its own problems, just read the printout. Its a bit loud as it prints. it is just a good all around all in one. Scanner is easy to use and it scans in pix in good quality for the pixel number. Try it!, you might really be pleased.
