610 Great Printer
on September 3, 2010

Recently my wife said she needed a printer/copier for school papers as she is a teacher. We went shopping and ended up purchasing an Epson 610 Printer. I was very satified with the easy set up for wireless printing/scanning. My wife has already used the printer and copier and is very happy with the print quality and speed. I would highly recommend this printer for any home and/or small office use.

OK for most uses.

Copier mode: I used it once and love it! Just follow the LCD screen and push the buttons it tells you to.
Scanning mode:
I haven't used the scanner much until just now. It seems OK, but I had a few problems:
1: I could not close the lid squarely on a 3/4 inch thick book.
2: I didn't find a way to specify a filename to scan to.
3: A 1200 DPI color scan of an 5.4x8.4 book cover took well over 6 minutes to produce a file, three times slower than my old scanner.
Printer mode: I bought it because of the relatively straight paper path. (I sometimes print 110# card stock.) I'm very satisfied with it, but it has two annoying weaknesses:
1: The instructions say it will not print on pre-punched paper. I don't recall seeing that caveat on the box. If I saw it, I ignored it, as I don't use punched paper. But I do use CD Stomper labels, some of which have a cutout for some reason. The printer stops printing as soon as it senses the cutout, leaving an unfinished label. WORKAROUND: Peel off the unused center circle and use it to cover the cutout.
2: I use the printer to print cards for library books, slightly under 3x5 inches. The paper guide could not be adjusted to 3 inches, and feeding them lengthwise didn't always work. WORKAROUND: I feed them sideways with text rotated in a MSWord table.
Fax mode: I haven't tried it yet.

Epson 610 All in One Printer

Shipped fast, looks great, color is superb, larger than my previous Epson. I like it so far. The only think I can say that I dislike is that it is noisy but performs well. I haven't printed photos yet so I hope those turn out just as well as the colored copies. Super value! I'm pleased with my purchase.

Epson User-Friendly Instruction

Well,
I spent quite a bit amount of time trying to install a previous wireless printer from a well known competitor. The experience was not a pleasant one from IP address to the printer going to sleep and unable to come back on.
I find my new Epson 610 a delight and it took me less than 45 minutes to have everything ready to go from the set up of the mechanical comopnents to the wireless setup
Thanks Epson.

So far, so good

I connected my printer only few hours ago, & have printed a few pages of photos. I have scanned 2 items. I have copied a few pages. All has gone well except the copying, when copying pages from a book. Sometimes it doesn't copy, just spits out a blank page or a page with strange lines on it.

Epson WorkForce 610 Printer

I received my Epson printer promptly. The instructions to install were easy to use, and so far is working fine. I had purchased a SONY VAIO laptop computer and was in need of a printer that would work with the new Windows 7. My previous printer was an Epson Stylus CX6000 and I was most satisfied with it. It is my plan to review this new printer further after I have used it for some time.

This machine performs well for most usual home tasks. However, if you want it for printing pictures I think there are better machines. The yellow is not true. I found that lowering the density helps to get a truer yellow, but it still is not what I would like to see. This is my 4th Epson printer. I was exceptionally pleased with my first one, but each one after performed not quite as well as the one before. Also, it is very noisy when starting to print.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
