Received my first Epson in Dec. 2009. It finally quit working within 90 days and took back to dealer and they gave me a new one of the same model. Both printers seem to have one identical problem with the paper jamming. The 1st one I had jammed all the time, would say it was out of paper when it wasn't, and say ink was out and it wasn't. Got to where it wouldn't print at all. The first printer was also noisy.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

It should be "WORKHORSE"! I read all the reviews, talked to some people and then bought it and hooked it up in no time and it's great! Everyone is correct-it is noisy, but no so much that it is bothersome. And everyone is correct about the paper tray-a little flimsy-but it works! I love the ability to just punch a button and turn my "Receive Fax" on and off! After about 4 years, my old, trusty Epson CX6600 died on me and I'm actually glad now! The 610 prints faster and inks the paper better and the style/design and black color is good in my living room office! I'm happy with the product!

Waste of Money

This is one of the worst printers that I have ever owned and I've only been using it for a week. It is horribly loud and clunky when you can get it to print. The feed cannot stablize the paper to keep it straight so it jams constantly. Every time I try to turn it off it gives an error that there is a fax to print even though I have never bothered to hook it to a phone line. I've had good Epsons before but this is not one of them!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

This is by far the best machine I have bought in a long time, such excellent value for money. The set up is easy easy easy, it works perfectly and if I am in the other room I cannot even hear it printing. The ink last a longer than on my old machine too. Love this machine will never buy anything printer/scanner/copier again that does not have EPSON on it!

Some Concerns

Overall I think it is a very fine printer. It is very fast and has many features.
However, my computer will not boot if the printer is on when I bring my computer up.
It jams when I try to copy documents less than 8"x10". I have to tape the document to a blank 8"x10" sheet of paper.
When I turn it off I have to acknowledge a "saved message..." before it will shut down.

These are small annoyances and I will eventually work them out. It's not enough of an annoyance for me to return the machine.

Excellent for the Money

Love this all-in-one. Purchased it on a whim. Needed a printer to print resumes and my old one (an Epson 5 years old was not up to the challenge) Found this on sale at Staples and they took the old one in on trade. So far the quality is great. Photos look nice and sharp too. We like the 'feeder' for copies. Can make copies and basic photo editing directly on the printer independant of a computer. Love the wireless too. Can print from any computer in the house! The only negatives I have are it is rather loud. The first time it printed, it scared the kids! and the first one we brought home had been used. Teh box was sealed fromthe factory, but the there where scratches on it and the cartidges were missing. Staples made it right, with no hassels

worth the money

My biggest hassle is the OCR program that is in the bundle.. For me it is not user friendly.. Also after using a 7400 for years I have to relearn the scanner bed. 7400 is top of paper to the right, work force top is to the left. I love the print speed.

Now working for 3 weeks with new Workforce 610. I am liking the wireless option as I can work in office or home office and print from either. It faxes quickly, scans nicely, and runs smoothly. The only "startling" is when you send something to print, it jolts the whole desk when feeding first sheet, then runs nicely.
My son on his Mac was not able to connect over the wireless network.
I would buy this again and recommend it to others.
