Good printer

I'm pretty happy with the basic functioning of the printer. I had no troubles installing it, and all my computers (three PC and a Mac, plus an iPhone) haven't had any problem.
The normal quality is pretty decent. I haven't yet tried the photo quality.

Two problems: I would use for internal documents a lower printing quality, in order to save some ink, but in this printer the "quick" printing is so light that it's almost unreadable, totally jagged and of very limited use. Probably and intermediate quality between the two would be useful. Second point, there's no OCR software, in XP it would install the "Versa" page management but the OCR option is always grayed up, while in Win7 it won't install at all.
If these two points don't bother you, then go ahead, the printer is very good looking and effective.

The first one broke after less than 100 pages printed. Had to wait for a replacement and then return the broken one. Result: a period with no printer at a time I would have been using it a lot. Replacement is holding up ok at this point. Have printed 200 or more pages.
A plus: Customer service immediately recognized the printer was broken and arranged for replacement. The replacement and return of broken one went easily.

Great printer, Great price

I've been overall very pleased with this printer. Set-up was easy and wireless set up was easy, as well. Quality and speed are great. Can be a little noisy, but opted for "quite mode" and this made a big difference with little effect on speed. Only cons are the amount of paper the paper tray can handle (use a speciality paper that is thicker than normal printer paper), and have not been able to get the "scan to PC" to work wirelessly, which isn't a big deal since you have to be at the printer to scan anyway. Use it for both business and personal and am very satisfied.

The WorkForce 610 All-in-One Printer has been a positive addition to my home office. The WiFi works wonders with the 4 computers in use. Print features are excellent, and the ink usage is within expected limits. The visual "ink-level" window gives me a great picture of where I am inkwise when printing large documents. The feature for combing other colors when the black is low is a life saver. If I could just figure out how to print documents from back-to-front as a default, I' be happy as a bug-in-a-rug. The on-line manual is difficult to navigate, and too long to print out. A shortened "quick set-up" manual covering the main-use options would be appreciated.

Very reliable. Top feed for paper requires heavier paper than we normally use. Otherwise, it tends to jam.
Unable to get scanner to read items as .DOC files. Comes out as JPEG or equivalent picture files.

This is the worst prinet I have ever owned. The print quality is absolutely horrible except when in high quality photo mode. As a matter of fact, if it's in nything but this mode, it is frequently illegible. I got this printer for Christmas, and I am giving serious consideration to just throwing it away and buying a new one. I would never buy another Epson.
