Love the pictures but it eats up batteries

WE love the camera and the quality of the pictures it takes. Our only complaint is it eats up batteries. I can't even get 20 pictures before my low battery light flashes. I always have to carry extra batteries with me and it's frustrating when on vacation or trying to take pictures of my kids.
Pros: Nice features/settings, excellent image quality, Simple controls/menu, easy to use
Cons: Short battery life
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Bought and used this canon camera for about a year. Love it and how it takes clear pictures. The zoom is great and the many features are excellent. Takes time to learn how to use it properly but it is worth knowing. Always use the liltium bstteries and you will never have a problem. these batteries last a very long time.
Pros: Nice features/settings, excellent image quality, durable, Bright LCD, Lightweight/Portable, Simple controls/menu, easy to use

i have always used Canon cameras and been extremely happy - until now. This is a great little camera except after taking a few pictures it says the batteries are low and will quit. Everytime I have tested the batteries, they are at least 90% good. So to use the camera the batteries have to be right out of the package, use them for a few shots and get more. I would assume there is some sort of sensor in the camera that isn't reading correctly. Of course, I had so much faith in canon I don't think I sent in the registration stuff - worst news is I bot one just like it for my husband- same thing.
Cons: Short battery life
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Great All-around Camera

Wonderful image quality; and huge benefit of ability to use AA batteries. (I use rechargeable NiMh AAs.) Camera is a perfect, slightly larger size, which makes it easier to hold than those smaller compact cameras This also helps prevent the user from inadvertently pushing the wrong buttons. Reading the Owners' Manual and correctly using the available multitude of user-friendly features virtually guarantees great images.
Pros: Good Low-Light Performance, Nice features/settings, excellent image quality, durable, Bright LCD, Lightweight/Portable, Simple controls/menu, easy to use
I would recommend this to a friend!

Outstanding!!!

We were tired of our "K" cameras not capturing the moment properly. My wife was tired of missing our children’s indoor functions because of the horrible low-light pictures they took. I decided to upgrade her camera to the SX120 IS. She has been very impressed with the SX120 IS picture quality both indoor and outdoor (score one for the husband!). I would definitely recommend this product for anyone with children or pets. The auto picture feature took amazing mountain landscape photos while driving 75mph on I-70!!
Pros: Good Low-Light Performance, Nice features/settings, excellent image quality, Bright LCD, Lightweight/Portable, Simple controls/menu, easy to use, easy to use right out of the box!
Cons: Short battery life
I would recommend this to a friend!

I like this camera. Just used it heavily over a long weekend getaway. My one complaint is that many of my shots on Auto look washed out, as if they are over-exposed. Once I put it on Program and took the exposure down one stop, everything looks great. And, as with almost all dig. cameras these days, there is no viewfinder, so it's often hard to stay steady while pushing the shutter button. Usually means you need more than one shot to get it right. But, I'm afraid this is a feature that won't be coming back....
Cons: no viewfinder

I replaced a cannon i had and glad i stayed with Cannon. I am still learning some of the features and truly the only thing i was disappointed in it did not come with the USER MANUAL it has to be downloaded and printed at your own expense. And when i need the manual to trouble shoot its not handy being on the computer and not at hand .
Pros: Simple controls/menu, i have not had a battery issue of short life
Cons: no user manual
I would recommend this to a friend!
