Great Camera!

I have tremors. My hands shake. I take medication for this but it only does so much. My hands still shake. So, it would go without saying that good photos and shaky hands do not go together. Enter the Canon Power Shot SX120IS. I have spent the past few days playing with this camera and having a blast! Two words sum up why I love this camera...Image Stabilization! Even at the full 10 X zoom I'm taking great photos!
Pros: good battery life, Good Low-Light Performance, Nice features/settings, excellent image quality, durable, Bright LCD, Lightweight/Portable, Simple controls/menu, easy to use, image stabilization!
I would recommend this to a friend!

The camera works very well in buildings, however due to its lack of a view finder it is nearly useless in sunlight since you can not see what you are photographing!!!
Pros: easy to use, Simple controls/menu, Nice features/settings, Bright LCD, excellent image quality, Lightweight/Portable
Cons: no view finder
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Great camera for the price

I bought this camera shortly after the holidays. I was looking for a camera that could do a lot for a point and shoot since i'm an aspiring photographer. I only had around a certain amount to spend. This camera is great for the price.
The manual setting work well. I like the effects. It's missing a couple features i would have loved to have, like a view finder, more lighting preferences, ect. Yes, i put heavy/bulky down as a con but i don't mind. What matters is what the camera takes a picture of and not the design/weight.
The battery life ranges widely. If you use standard batteries
with a high LCD screen brightness, then of course your batteries are going to run out very fast. I use the lowest LCD brightness setting and rechargeable batteries and it last for a long time.
This camera has 10.0 megapixels but the lens must not be that great because it takes soft and not as crisp photos as i was hoping for. A family member has a more expensive canon from a couple years back, it has 6.0 megapixels and the photos are crisp and clear almost all the time.
When buying a camera, it really doesn't matter how many megapixels as much as a having a great lens.
This camera would be so much better if it had a better lens.
So yes, i would recommend this camera but i would suggest saving a bit more money and getting something slightly better if you are expecting a lot out of a camera like i was. Another canon for sure.
I love canons!
Pros: Nice features/settings, durable, Simple controls/menu, easy to use
Cons: Poor Low-Light Performance, Heavy/Bulky, not great lens

Amazing camera

I bought this camera somewhat on the spur of the moment and I don't think I could be any happier. I absolutely love this camera. The image quality is phenomenal. I use the camera almost exclusively in P mode because usually I can get the shoot I want easily from there. If not I can always get the shot using one of the other modes (usually M, Av or Tv). I have had no problems with the camera at all. I highly suggest this product for anyone looking for a excellent camera without breaking the bank. The only issue you might have is battery life if you use regular AA batteries. I suggest rechargeable AAs and lowering the brightness of the LCD. I find that they last significantly longer before losing charge than even lithium AAs.
Pros: Good Low-Light Performance, Nice features/settings, excellent image quality, Bright LCD, Simple controls/menu, easy to use

Great Camera!

When looking for a new camera to replace our old ones I hit the internet and various stores to find the right one. I knew Canon was a good name and high quality so focused on those.
What really attracted us to this camera was all the features it provided while not going over board. We're not professionals so we didn't need interchangeable lenses. We took some test pictures and loved the quality and loved the Optical zoom.
I will definitely recommend this camera!
We're really looking forward to using it on
Pros: Good Low-Light Performance, Nice features/settings, excellent image quality, durable, Bright LCD, Simple controls/menu, easy to use
Cons: Heavy/Bulky

Good camera, Bad LCD screen

Good camera, many smart features make picture taking easy especially in AUTO mode. Good zoom, Decent image stabilization, OK value for $$ ... BUT LCD screen is washed out in sunlight, especially if it is coming over your shoulder to light subject, (NEEDS viewfinder) slow camera recovery between shots rules out action photos, would also benefit from additional attachment point for neck strap, not just wrist strap. Would also benefit from grid on LCD screen to help compose shots
Pros: Nice features/settings, excellent image quality, easy to use
Cons: Dim LCD, Missing features/settings, Short battery life, Complicated controls/menu
I would recommend this to a friend!

Excellent features for a relatively cheap camera. I love the adjustable CUSTOMIZABLE white balance - it makes all the difference between a good shot and an outstanding shot.
Canon made a great camera with this one, and a good bargain too, in my opinion.
Pros: Good Low-Light Performance, Nice features/settings, excellent image quality, durable, Bright LCD, Lightweight/Portable, easy to use, custom white balance
I would recommend this to a friend!

Great Purchase

This is a great little camera. It is easy to use and close ups are great. I've found that you need a tripod for subjects far away. It is hard to keep the camera steady zooming long distances. Other than that it has been a very handy and easy to use camera. Each shutter selection is announced on the viewing screen. This makes the camera pretty much ready to use out of the box and you don't have to read lots of material in order to learn how to use it.
Pros: Nice features/settings, excellent image quality, Simple controls/menu, easy to use
I would recommend this to a friend!
