not an outdoor use

I thought this would be a good replacement for the bulkier
S2 IS since its smaller and has a better mega pixil and similar zoom.
I was disappointed right away.
the zoom was slower.
less features.
no more add-on lenses.
smaller focal length, resulting in less dramatic photos.
Not recommended for outdoors types.
got a little bit of sand on her and the gears grinded to a halt.
Should have never left the S# IS series.

NO view window! By the time I got focused; was too late to take photo! Do not like it. Too fancy for me. I am 72. So many people want viewer window. Am returning camera.

Though heavier then most point and shot cameras, I still like the feel of something solid in my hand. Others have noted the negatives: battery life and difficult battery door. But, I have gotten excellent pictures; the quality seems much better as compared to the 1300 series. The 144 page manual is a good to have, but not a necessity to carry around. Overall, this is an excellent camera. Low-light shots are fine if you use the right settings. The kids and pets setting works as stated. This is a great camera for those who are novices as well as for the more experienced user.

I love this camera

I have only had this camera for a few days but I love it its perfect for taking pictures from far away which is great for me cause my children are in sports and the pictures turn out great I am so glad I got this camera
Pros: Good Low-Light Performance, Nice features/settings, excellent image quality, durable, Bright LCD, easy to use
Cons: Short battery life, Complicated controls/menu

Has everything you would want in a Digital Camera

I bought the SX 120 IS after researching all the other camers that are out there. This camera has all the features to take great pictures and the 10X Optical Zoom is great for out door pictiues. This camera and the picture quality lives up to all my expectations.
Pros: good battery life, Good Low-Light Performance, Nice features/settings, excellent image quality, durable, Bright LCD, Lightweight/Portable, Simple controls/menu, easy to use

canon sx120 is review

I was a bit surprised by its performance when I first started using it. The pictures are beautiful. There are several minor items i do not like such as deleting photos from the camera. but i can live with them. I will be upgrading in a little while. But for now I am very happy with this one, I owned A Canon FT back quite a few years ago. Canon has not lost its touch. They are still the best cameras for the price on the market
