Best camera For Me

For many years i've used a canon sure shot 35mm camera with excellent pictures. I selected this digital camera as a replacement for it's simlicity of use. I like the ability to take numerous photos, store and delete them. Particularly pleased with "auto" mode to just point and shoot. The camera is just right for me. It is a top quality product at just the right price.
Pros: good battery life, Good Low-Light Performance, Nice features/settings, excellent image quality, durable, Bright LCD, Lightweight/Portable, Simple controls/menu, easy to use

Love my camera

The first time I saw this camera I fell in love with it, it's like one of those professional, expensive cameras but more affordable and more light weight. I told my boyfriend about this camera months before my birthday and on the day of my birthday he surprised me with this camera. It was the best gift ever. I never leave home without it. I do digital photo shoots for friends and family so the quality of the pictures are very important, each and every time i get great results and every one is always satisfied. :) Absolutely love it and I recommend this camera to everyone.

I purchased this camera as an "Upgrade" to our older Powershot A530. I had been please withthe A530, so I purchased another Canon product. I am EXTREMELY disappointed withthe Picture Quality--it is no where near as good as the 530, and borders on downright terrible. I have tried several settings, whihc make the images "less grainy," but still of poor quality.
I was hoping for a "point and shoot" similar to the 530, but using this camera on"Auto" results in UNACCEPTABLE picture quality.

Love at first sight

As I'm not quite skilled enough to take on the bigger SLRs, this camera is an excellent gateway to more seasoned photography. Whether you like to point-and-shoot or tweak everything just right with the manual functions, this camera is all-around awesome in my opinion. I've owned this camera for five hours now and my mind is already blown.
Pros: stunning photos, great price
Cons: no printed manual, guzzles battery

Expected more

I bought the camera prior to an autumn trip to New England. First started taking foliage pictures using the Auto feature and was very disappointed in the quality. The pictures appeared washed out and lifeless. Switched to the Scene Foliage mode and experienced the same problem. After much fiddling with the different and overly complex settings I was able to get some decent shots.
All I can say about this camera is that I'm thankful I also bought photo editing software. At least I was able to salvage some pictures with that product.

Worst camera ever owned

I hate this camera. It cost us about $230 and it's a piece of junk. For some reason it seems to hold about 45 photos before it says the memory card is full, the battery life is VERY poor- we are going to invest in rechargeables, and I have to take several shots to get a decent photo- most come out blurry. I know it is NOT me. I don't have a shaky hand. I NEVER had a problem with the 2 other cameras I've owned in the past. Don't waste your money!
Cons: Poor image quality, Short battery life, Complicated controls/menu

Nice but....

This appeared to be just the right camera for our long awaited trip to France. The camera performed relably prior to our departure and I was easily able to familiarize myself with the cameras settings etc.
Several days into our tour of France, the "change batteries" message appeared. No matter how many times I changed to freshly, fully charged batteries the message continued to appear. The following day the camera decided to work and continued to operate correctly for another four or five days. Again the dreaded "change batteries" messaage appeaared but, this time only due to changing batteries after every few photos shot. The camera did function up until the eve of our last day in France. But alas no last day photos. Once home, while trying to down load the photos to our computer the battery message kept appearing, which in turn caused the photo downloading process to stop. The local drug store was where I was finally able to get our photos from memory card to disc.
My options now are to return the camera to store of purchase for a refund, or mail it to Canon's repair facility. The Canon tech support person was vey nice listening to my problem.
