My side kick

So far I love it... only had it 2 days. Pictures are great and I hope to learn all the features. I like that it uses 2 AA batteries. I was sold on the optical zoom and with the digital zoom, great! Also it has an SD slot.
the only thing is the battery compartment is a little hard to open with the batteries in.
Pros: easy to use, Simple controls/menu, Bright LCD, excellent image quality, good battery life
I would recommend this to a friend!

love this camera

I was looking for a pocket camera to carry around instead of my xti for those quick, at-the-moment pictures. I love the fact that i can go from auto to manual to capture creative images. Would love to have a larger aperature range and a bulb setting. But for an excellent point and shot that turns out crisp images, I can't complain. Fast focus. good battery life with the right batteries. I use the Eneloop precharged, rechargeables. I have shot over 200 exposures with and without flash and haven't changed the batteries yet.
Pros: easy to use, Simple controls/menu, Nice features/settings, Bright LCD, excellent image quality, Good Low-Light Performance, Lightweight/Portable, good battery life, durable
Cons: would like to see a bulb feature
I would recommend this to a friend!

The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly
on January 10, 2011

The Good:
Modest price, great picture quality, easy to use.
The Bad:
Trouble getting the camera to work after putting in new batteries.
The camera is a bit heavy, probably because of the AA batteries.
The Ugly:
Batteries, batteries, batteries. Too many batteries. Modest use (2-3 times per week) of the camera over the last 6 months and I went through at least 50 AA brand name batteries. I recommend getting something rechargable instead.
I've had the camera for 8 months and I can't get it to work, not even turn on. Not sure what the problem is but I won't re-purchase this camera.
Pros: Good Low-Light Performance, Nice features/settings, excellent image quality, Simple controls/menu, easy to use
Cons: Short battery life, Heavy/Bulky
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I liked the over all look of the camera, it had some substance to it, and by that I mean it felt like you were holding a camera that wasn't too small yet small enough.
It was easy for me to delete photo's compared to my last digital camera and I will have to play with the camera more to really know it's full potential.
The quality of the photo's are good.......
There is no setting for action shots like in your past camera's that I owned and I was diserpointed to learn there was no wide angle lens.
Also it says it's a 10X zoom , however when looking through you LCD to take the photo when pushed to it's 10x zoom it looks all blury in the LCD, so it isn't really a 10x zoom, but good quality when zooming to where the zoom looks best.
I notice that same problem with most zooms on other brand name camera's in this price rage and less and not solely with Cannon.
What diserpoints me is that you give more in certain area's and take away features that existed on your other less expensive camera's that were good.
My friend has the Cannon SL1000, older model, and she takes the most fantastic photo's with the features that this model doesn't have.
I'm sure this cannon will meet my needs and over all a good little camera.
Pros: Good Low-Light Performance, Nice features/settings, excellent image quality, durable, Bright LCD, Lightweight/Portable, Simple controls/menu, easy to use, easy for me to use, great lcd viewer
Cons: Missing features/settings, Short battery life, manual could be better, no wide angle lense, there is no setting for action shots, no view finder
I would recommend this to a friend!

This is my third Canon camera and it takes great pictures and is easy to use. Things that would be nicer that I had on previous models: rechargable battery pack, view finder, the battery/sd card opening is very hard to open and doesn't work as it is suppose to.
Pros: Nice features/settings, excellent image quality, Simple controls/menu
Cons: Missing features/settings, Difficult to use
I would recommend this to a friend!
