Simple and Fast with Room to Improve

I am by no means a professional photographer. I wanted a simple camera that takes good pictures of my family. I also wanted to be able to photograph the outdoor adventures of our Boy Scout Troop. The Zoom is excellent for far off outdoor shots. I have written a Troop news letter as a hobby and the pictures from my Power Shot SX120IS give it much quality and are very easy to download to my computer from my camera or from the memory card. The more I use the camera and explore using it's fetures the more I improve as a photographer.
Pros: Good Low-Light Performance, Nice features/settings, excellent image quality, Bright LCD, Lightweight/Portable, Simple controls/menu, easy to use, outstanding zoom

Still learning how to sue it

My former digital was a Canon and I loved it, but it stopped working just before I left for my family reunion. So I'm just getting used to using it.I'm 84 years old and my eyes are weak, so the large LCD monitor, that is the only way to view the picture you are taking is difficult for me to use in the sunlight. Never the less, my many pictures I took on my vacation turned out well.
Pros: Lightweight/Portable, easy to use
Cons: hard to see the lcd in the sunlight

Overall I am pleased with the camera, I have used other name brand p&s cams which are pretty good this one has great zoom qualities! and clarity for low light is very good.. as many others have said it is very bulky for the wrist strap.. and the BATTERY LIFE is aweful after only having the cam for 2 wks now I have gone through an amazing amount of batteries..I will be taking the suggestions of all those who reviewes and invest in some rechargables!!!!! which I think should be recomended by canon, since so many users are stating the same thing... but this is just me . I am still learning the features so I am overall satisfied with the performance.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Bought three months ago as an extra camra to carry in the field - like the zoom range altho colors don't seem as sharp as I'd hoped. Plenty of programs to set for different conditions & has auto that seems to be handy when don't have time to set special programs
Am using rechargeable batteries that seem to hold up well even with lots of zooming & focusing

Great Camera!

This camera takes exceptional shots! I take it everywhere and keep it in my purse for those times when you need it. I replaced my previous digital camera because the batteries didn't last past a few minutes. I've never had a problem with this camera. The photos are breathtaking. The color and clarity is superb. I thought I would miss the viewfinder but the image screen is large enough to see what I need in order to take the picture. There are features on this camera I haven't even tried yet. I do wish, however, that there was a way to delete all the photos rather than one at a time.
Pros: price, image quality, features, portability
Cons: would like to delete more than one photo at a time

I've only had it a day and I'm pleased with all of the features this camera has to offer. The pictures I've taken so far are of excellent quality and the interface to print and also to save is also excellent.
Pros: add a pro

I'm surprisingly pleased with this camera, the images it captures are just amazing. Excellent picture quality. Plus easy to use. Batteries run out relatively quicker, but using such means being able to purchase reserves anywhere. My friends even admire the pics I produced from my camera, and it's worth the amount, having performed better than far more expensive cameras.
Pros: great images
Cons: batteries run out quickly
