This is a great great camera..Very easy to use and has an amazing image quality. The only thing I'm "if-y"
about is the low light performance...It only turns out good if I put up the flash...But I'm still learning about this camera. Other than that, I recommend this camera to everyone!!! I take many photos at concerts and am eager to use it at my next rock N roll concerts!!
Pros: good battery life, Nice features/settings, excellent image quality, Bright LCD, Simple controls/menu, easy to use
Cons: just a little heavy
I would recommend this to a friend!

incredible photos for just the average doer and more. My ex wife has the 110 and i upgraded to the 120 and the clarity with this camera is unreal. You get what you pay for with this package. I'm still learning all the ways to use it but im always impressed. Cant wait to see the next one, keep up the good work guys.
Pros: good battery life, Good Low-Light Performance, Nice features/settings, excellent image quality, durable, Bright LCD, Lightweight/Portable, Simple controls/menu, easy to use

I have had several digital cameras and I rank this as my #1. The main features I enjoy are: the great resolution, unbeatable macros, screen size, and the ease of use!!
Great job, Canon! Great features in an affordable camera!

I have been using this camera for a few months and it is the best Canon yet, I have used Canon since the G1 and it was great at the time
Pictures are very great. even indoor in poor light without a flash are great.
The only downside that I see is that there is no view finder. I think that if I had noticed this early I wouldn't have bought it.
Pros: good battery life, Good Low-Light Performance, excellent image quality, durable, Bright LCD, Simple controls/menu, easy to use
Cons: Missing features/settings, no viewer

I bought this camera a week ago and Im still trying out the functions but so far Im satisfied with the feature set and image quality.
I am an occasional user who bought this camera simply as an upgrade to the entry level p&s cameras I have been using all along. Also I needed a camera with a long-range zoom lens to capture an event I was gonna be attending in a big auditorium. It gave very good results at full zoom. On seeing the photos many friends were asking how I was able to get so close to the stage.
Im very pleased so far. This camera is addictive. Im snapping everything and everyone around the house. If this continues Im gonna seriously consider upgrading to the SX20 IS or its replacement when that comes out - Im waiting to see if it comes with a CMOS sensor (which Ive learnt is far better) and what other enhancements it has.
Summer should be great with a great camera to capture it!!
Pros: good battery life, Nice features/settings, durable, Bright LCD, Lightweight/Portable, Simple controls/menu, easy to use

Could use a little improvement!

This camera takes great photos and has a good zoom, but very difficult to use outdoors, especially on a sunny day, it definitely should have a view finder. I changed batteries contantly while on vacation and the battery compartment was so difficult to open, missed a few photo opportunities due to time spent trying to change batteries. My 3rd Canon, best photos & zoom, great size, but falls short otherwise.
Pros: Lightweight/Portable
Cons: Short battery life, no view finder, difficult to open, no printed manual

The SX120 is Canon's equivilent of the Ford Edsel ! The 10x Zoom Lens was AWESOME RANGE ! But from there it went downhill. battery life was pathetic.. And worst issue I had on the SX120 was the lens would stick open when you powered the camera off. or when you started to take a photo, the lens was half closed. It stuck constantly... BUT I have been an AVID Canon user, and you cannot beat Canon Quality and performance. My business demands a Canon Camera's performance for Landscape photography. So I returned this SX120 and got a A3000 Point N' Shoot, to compliment my Canon SLR.. I use the A3000 alongside my Canon Rebel Digital SLR and they're the Perfect Duo. For the money,( and it is YOUR money), I'd recommend my own mother buy the A3000, and any of the Great Canon SLR's,they're all about quality, performance and price and Canon beats everyone else hands down.
Cons: add a con

Best camera I've ever owned

I bought my Canon PowerShot SX120 IS because of its features, mainly, the 10x optical zoom. I take a lot of photos of my garden as well as the flora and fauna in the local Metro Parks, so a high-quality optical zoom is very important to me. This camera has the best at 10x for the price, is as easy to use as my old A70, and has some additional settings, including fireworks. I used the latter on July 4 and the photos came out remarkably well.
