Pleasantly Surprised

I received the Canon PIXMA MP560 for a gift from my Hubby, but I was disappointed it wasn't my preferred name-brand of printer. Living in a multi-level home, I needed a Wireless Printer which has the same flexibility around the house as my Laptop does. I had a little bit of difficulty with the Setup of this machine, but once I was able to operate it I was pleasantly surprised. This Canon Printer is smaller, quieter, & quicker than my other All-In-One; it aesthetically coordinates with my other computer and media equipment; and it is a much Greater Value than the one I already use in my Home Office. Some parts are flimsy, while others are strong. I'm a Graphic Artist, so the Sharpness of Print and Shades of Tones & Colors aren't as perfect as my other inkjet printer. But for the money it is more than adequate for most people who are on a budget. With normal household use such as Homework, this is the One! Time will tell if the smaller Ink cartridges are a problem or not. I was able to resolve the Setup issues without the help of a Technician, but it was still frustrating. The Canon PIXMA MP560 is a Great Buy and most definitely suits my needs at this time.
Pros: reliable, Compact Design, fast print speed, easy to use, aesthetically appealing
Cons: Heavy/Bulky, Difficult Setup, Dull Tones & Colors, Flimsy Construction, dull print sharpness

I have had every name brand and this is the best printer I have owned. I bought 1 for work and for my parents. My boss loves it.
Pros: reliable, Compact Design, Easy Setup, durable, Low Ink Consumption, Lightweight/Portable, Sharp Tones & Colors, fast print speed, easy to use, common sense manual

This is the best printer I have ever purchased. It meets all of my needs. I would recommend it to everyone who needs an all in one printer.

Fantastic Printer Pixma MP560

Purchased a week ago...I have used printer & scanner on a daily basis. I find this printer to be of excellent quality at a great price! (I have owned other brand printers in the past 10 years and I have found Canon printers to be superior to those other brands). Scanner does a great job of scanning photos & making photocopies. Photo prints have great color tone. Everyday document print is perfect on the settings that I have used both 'fast' print grayscale & standard print color. Be sure to read about the different settings for printing the best quality. Setup went well for me. Currently, I am not wireless, only use one desktop so I used a USB port to connect to my computer. I found the features to be easy to navigate. And lastly, Canon customer service is A+.
Pros: reliable, Compact Design, Easy Setup, easy to use, i like the compact design for cleaning, paper eject tray opens automatically

Not Worth It

I've had this printer for 18 months. I set it up for wireless use, but then it didn't actually work for the primary scanning purpose - instead I had to hard wire it. The device worked well enough otherwise for printing and scanning until now. For some reason, it won't print yellow anymore and black barely prints as well. I've tried replacing each print cartridge (twice even) - to no avail. I have no idea what's wrong. I've followed all of the trouble shooting options available (Cleaning twice, running nozzle checks, deep cleaning), but there are no other trouble shooting options available and no other information that lends any explanation for the problem I'm experiencing. Am probably going to have to buy a whole new device after just 18 months of minimal use. I'm very disappointed and probably won't purchase Canon products anymore after this experience.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

As soon as any ink runs out the printer is USELESS! An error screen pops up (that you cannot exit) and wont let you print in other colors, or even scan! Since when does scanning need an ink cartridge
Cons: Difficult to use, unreliable

Won't work with MacOS Mojave

I have had this printer for a while and it has worked great. I updated my MacOS to the latest (Mojave) and now my printer will no longer communicate with the iMac. Given that this printer is still displayed on your web site, you are still selling ink for same, you should also be providing an updated driver to allow it to work with the latest MacOS. Please do so asap

Great printer!

Replaced another mulitfunction printer that always left me thinking that there was just a little something missing from the quality of photos and in fact the total print page of text items.
I've not used it much yet, but have put it through it's paces as to photo printing, scanning, documents, etc., and have not been disappointed in the least.
Glad I bought it.
Pros: Compact Design, Easy Setup, easy to use, fast print speed, reliable, Sharp Tones & Colors
