Finally time to own a printer
on January 2, 2010

After years of not owning a printer of my own, I finally broke down and decided that I was going to buy one. I wanted a wireless, but was nervous about the set up, as I am not that good in setting up anything electronic. The directions made this the easiest thing that I have ever set up. It was amazing. The print quality is great and it is wonderful not to have to connect it to my lap top every time I want to print something.
Pros: Easy Setup, easy to use
I would recommend this to a friend!

My Best Electronics Decision

This is a great tool for my computer. The printed quality is better than any printer I've owned in the past. I've printed copies for others, and they were equally impressed with the quality. This was not my first Canon printer, and it will not be the last.
Pros: reliable, Easy Setup, Sharp Tones & Colors, easy to use
Cons: Heavy/Bulky
I would recommend this to a friend!

Great Printer for a Great Price

I have only used this printer for a week but I am already impressed with it. I set up this printer to be available on my home network as a wireless device. The setup process was easy and took less than 15 minutes. I have a laptop with Windows XP. I installed Bonjour Print Services for Windows on the laptop and installed the printer very easily. The print quality is quite good and the print speed exceeds my expectations. The only thing that I thought was a little cumbersome was using the dial to sequence through letters, numbers, and characters in order to configure the printer to connect to my SSID and to enter my passkey. Otherwise, I recommend this printer. For the money, you can't beat it, particularly if having fax capability is not a concern/need.
Pros: Easy Setup, fast print speed

Another Disappointment

MP560 worked for a while. though it went through ink fairly fast. Then, all of a sudden it just stopped working from all the computers on network. Computers can no longer retreive ink status let alone print. Still works as a standalone copier, and I can scan documents also. But the real rub is that the troubleshooting software offers no help whatsoever.
Pros: setup is fairly easy
Cons: it no longer prints

good product, but...

I purchased the pixma 560 about 6 years ago. SInce I've gotten it, it's had a big problem staying connected to the network for wireless printing. At first it'll work fine, but when you turn the computer off or reboot, or put it to sleep then wake it up, it won't work. Though it'll work by USB.
I'm having to uninstall then reinstall the software whenever I reboot my computer b/c it won't stay connected!!!
After some research, I'm not the only one this is happening to. I just wish I'd seen those reviews before purchasing, but at the time, it was still new! Other than that, the printer is great. It scans great and prints great, just can't keep it connected unless I want to leave my computer on 24/7, and that's not happening!

Soooo hard to set up with MacOS

I've had this printer for years. All-in-all, it's been okay. The prints aren't great, but they're tolerable. What's not been tolerable is trying to keep it configured with our computers. Every time there's a change - new computer, new router, firmware update - whatever - I have to go through the pain of setting this loaf up again. I'd rather frame a house using my forehead as the hammer. It advertises itself on the network as a scanner. It's phenomenally easy to set up the wireless network scanning functionality. HBDC. I want to print. And that's impossible. I think this time I'm going to donate the MP560 to someone with the patience of Job and buy a printer I can actually set up.

The mp560 prints great pictures at a ok time frame .the bluetooth is a nice feature to have. The price is a fair one compared to other all in one's .the scroll wheel is easy to use as well as the printers tools .it has slots to insert camera and other cards for a direct print job.The duel papper trays come in handy.I do like the scanner it does a good job on some of my older pictures .i just changed from xp to windows 7 and it had no problems at all .so over all i have to say a nice all in one in comparison.
Pros: Easy Setup, easy to use, reliable
