Buy into an ink refilling business prior to buying

Worst printer I have owned, I have thrown more ink away than a squid would in their lifetime. CANNOT print with black ink only, and thats all I print, on the 8th set of ink cartridges and have yet to print in anything but black for nearly 2 years, but where does the ink go?????? Really, a bad option for a printer, you're better off hand writing letters, pens are cheaper. NOT RECOMMENDED<<<<<AVOID>>>>>>>
Cons: Slow Print Speed, no black ink only option
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

It's Wireless! No USB Cable Needed.

This is a great Multi Function Printer. I use it with my laptop. While you can attach it to your computer with a USB cable, the Wireless feature allows me to print from my laptop anywhere in the house.
I especially like the compact design. No paper trays sticking out. On older printers if the paper tray was closed you would get a message to open the tray. Great if you happen to be there to see the message. This machine opens the tray by itself if a print command is given!
Since I also own a Canon Digital camera, it is a snap to print my picture directly from the camera.

Easy as Pie to setup

I have only owned this printer for an hour and 10 minutes but I am up and running with no problem what so ever. Wireless and all. Couldn't be easier and happy as a bug.
Make sure that you have at least 1 hr and 30 minutes to setup, just incase you make a mistake. Don't rush. Just follow the directions exactly and you will be pleasantly surprised at how easy this is to get online.
Make sure you have your Pass key info and your network name handy as you will need these to setup the wireless feature.
I printed a document via MS Word 2007 and it went quicker than expected. Have yet to print a photo.
Using a laptop with a 2009 O/S. No problems what so ever.
Good Luck!
Pros: Easy Setup, easy to use, crisp text
I would recommend this to a friend!

"High Quality" is a stretch

This is a get what you pay for. No, this is not high quality. That usually comes from a photolab. The first disturbing characteristic is roller marks. Second, very slow. Manual appears simple enough, but gets confusing when it comes to wireless connection. Canon tutorial video much better. Then it all becomes simple.
Pros: easy to use
Cons: Slow Print Speed, Dull Tones & Colors
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Complicated installation

This is a great printer, but the the installation is much too difficult for a novice. I thought that my wife could handle it but this was not the case. The insataaltion of the print head was not straight forward. The wireless LAN configuration was not automatic.

Ink Issue
on December 11, 2013

I have one and only one complaint about this printer. When it runs out of, say, magenta or yellow, and the black ink cartridge is NOT empty, the printer will not work. No matter that you have a document for printing that requires only black ink. You can't do it. It is infuriating and frustrating and nonsensical.

Say the magenta ink cartridge runs dry, well then, the entire printer will not function. You can not print in black and white; you cannot even scan. Shop around, and if necessary, spend an extra 100 bucks and get something that will function.
Cons: unreliable
