I purchased this item a few months ago and am very pleased I did. It has so many features that I still have a lot to learn. It prints excellent pictures and is very fast printing text.I would recommend this all in one to anyone.
Pros: great product
Cons: would like more software to work with pictures.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Wireless and Troubless

Although customer feedback common theme was that the wireless setup was a nightmare, I found it seamless by calling tech support from beginning as I didn't want the hassle of figuring out if I was doing wrong. Even now when the wireless stopped working it was probably due to the router. I called tech support and with ease they walked me thru reinstalling the driver and reconnecting the LAN which I can do in future when it happens again. I recommend getting a printer usb cable in case of emergency when you have to print something and don't have time to fix wireless. I have only used the scan other than printing. I found a few too many steps to scan though it worked without a hitch. I haven't tested the printing of photos. Otherwise I am very satisfied with the workmanship and technical support
Pros: wireless, tech support
Cons: scanner took a few steps too much

Best Printer I've owned...Ever!

I have gone through a number of "resonably priced" Photo printers and multi-function photo printers. throughout my experiance with several brands in the past, none of the prievious printers lasted more than a few months at best! When my latest Printer bit the dust, a long line of failed technology, I went out to buy another one to replace the one I had just replaced... I found the MP560 by Canon - I even bought the 2 year replacement product contract knowing my history with printers- to my amazement and great appreceation, this printer has survived ME and outlived every one of its predisesors! we have been together for over a year now abouts and my MP560 Canon multi-photo-printing-meriicale-machiene is still kicking butt! I would reccomend this printer to any and everyone who has had a rough history of their own with printers or yore. Bless CANON!- Amen!

Best printer ever!

I absolutely love this printer. The ink tanks last a long time, it depends on the printing you are doing though. Great lab quality photo prints. One of the toughest printers I've ever had. You wont be sorry when you buy this printer. It's worth every penny! Plus I love the fact of the paper saving by using it as a duplex printer (both sides). You can also save ink by changing the settings and setting it at draft quality and it still looks great. Very easy setup, even the wireless setup is a breeze. Looking for a printer? This is it!

Love this Printer!

I've had this printer for nearly 2 yrs now. From pulling it out of the box to getting it ready to print I had no trouble. The instructions were easy to follow for anyone - even a non-tech type! I've found its ink consumption to be very reasonable - I am a moderate to heavy user of this printer. I've printed everything from documents to colour photos of various sizes. Everything comes out clear and sharp. I also use a web-based program for my postage - this printer puts out a nice sharp print that the post office appreciates. I run this printer on a system with Win XP Pro. I've not had a single problem with it in the time I've had it - I'm very pleased with this printer! I purchased it as an upgrade to another Canon printer (which is still going strong). I've recommended this printer to friends, many of whom have purchased it, and been just as happy with it as I am.
Pros: easy on ink, nice crisp printing, relatively quick printing on high quality, printing/copying/scanning in one unit
Cons: none
I would recommend this to a friend!

Refuses to scan if you run out of ink.

I love the MP560 and it has served me well since I received it as a Christmas gift from my sister some years ago. So why am I only giving an Overall Rating of just one star?
Well, I only recently learned that this thing absolutely REFUSES to scan anything if you run out of ink! This printer uses 5 ink cartridges:
And you can't print greyscale (or black & white) if ANY of the cartridges are empty... that includes any one or more of the color cartridges.
For this serious flaw, I can't recommend that anyone buy this model (or similar) if there isn't going to be a firmware release to fix it.
Seriously? I can't scan my important documents if this thing has no ink? Very frustrating! I'm seriously considering dumping this model and getting a stand-alone printer and a separate stand-alone scanner just to avoid this nightmare!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
