Uneven Toasting Still A Problem for This Toaster

Second 2-slice compact plastic toaster seems to work the same as the first. Uneven toasting is my primary complaint. Right slot: toasts only the inside side of toast and often burns the bottom of the bagels. I purchased a new one hoping that the toaster might have been improved since I bought the first one in 2018. Sadly that was not the case. I love the design, color, compact size, pop up feature, but as far as the toasting process, it fails to toast evenly.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I was excited about the features of this toaster. BUT, one feature it's missing is the ability to toast a single piece evenly. It only toasts one side and you then need to turn it over to toast the second which then overbrowns the first side. Stuck with a toaster lacking what I consider a vital feature.

Great toaster for the price!!! Bought for 88-year-old mom to use in her assisted-living apartment and she LOVES it !!! Passed up other pricier toasters to get this one which advertised lifting up smaller items to grab without any tongs or fork or whatever and the feature works GREAT !!! Mom can easily take out her (very small) French-bread-toast and EVERYTHING is toasted so evenly !!!
