Bought this toaster 12/2025. First slots are too short, normal pieces of bread don't fit but not a deal breaker for us. Second, and worse, we started toasting (very unevenly!!) at #3 setting. We don't toast things a lot, maybe a couple of times a week. Gradually we had to increase the setting as the toast began coming out lighter and lighter. Now in September 2026 and we are at 6 out of 7, and its barely toasting.... Sad. We thought a Cuisinart product would perform better.

However, the toasting performance is pretty good. Overall, this product seems designed to keep manufacturing costs as low as possible while focusing more on actual toasting performance and value for money.
When used several times within a short period, the first two cycles are fairly consistent. The third cycle may be slightly weaker. For example, on the third cycle, setting it to level 4 may produce results closer to level 3.
The pop-up action is only average, so you may sometimes need to manually lift the lever to make it easier to remove the toast.
