I apparently got a defective toaster this time. It either burnt the bread to black at 3 & didn't even warm the bread at 1 or two. The bread holders didn't stay in the middle either. I ended up returning it for a refund. I have had Cuisinart toasters in the past & they were always great, so I rated this 2 stars because it was a fluke in my past experience with Cuisinart toasters & the rest of the Cuisinart products I have owned over the years. Cuisinart has always been a trusted brand, but this toaster was a disappointment. I will still buy other Cuisinart products in the future.

The toaster mechanism seems to function well enough, but the dial for lighter/darker toast is very loose. It changes position if accidentally touched. It almost seems to be disconnected from any controls—it might as well be non-functional.

Toaster is nice and light and is toasting well. The additional buttons are all working as designed. I did follow the directions to redirect the cord underneath, and it works just fine on our counter. No complaints, and the price was great!

Returned it because it toasted only one side of the bread.
