I bought this in black 2 months ago and maybe used it 10 times. Now it won't work on any setting. Unfortunately I can't find the receipt so can't return it. Don't waste your money!!

Replaced a previous Cuisinart stainless steel toaster that worked well, but the digital settings didn’t match my toasting (darkness) preferences. This one is black with analog dials that are far more variable and match the toasting that I want for various breads, muffins and bagels. I am delighted, and it was cheaper than my previous model. Highly recommend.

Wonderful, wonderful toaster, it browns quickly & evenly on all types of bread. May it be thick, thin, or a bagel. I've been wanting to replace my old toaster for over two years. The old toaster took forever to toast, and I had to do several cycles to get it light brown. wished I had done it sooner.
I'm always very pleased with the quality & performance of Cuisinart products. And they seem to last forever.
I would recommend this to a friend!

The lever you pushed down to start the toasting would not stay down.

Fire hazard. Do NOT buy!

This deserves negative stars. It's a dangerous fire hazard. Don't buy. We used this toaster at our time share and put crumpets in on the lowest time setting. The edges on one end of each burnt.
Then, we put two more crumpets in and within 30 secs the toaster caught fire.
The toaster is new, there were no crumbs in it at all. This toaster just gets way too hot very fast. We are just lucky my MIL was standing right there watching the toaster and the place didn't burn down.
Do NOT buy.

This toaster replaced an older Cuisinart of the same exact style. The older model still worked, but didn’t toast as fast as when it was new, and the heating coils were coated with food residue making the heating uneven. We had the older model for at least 12 years, thus I felt I could trust Cuisinart to make a reliable appliance. The new model looks great, has an easier to read darkness dial and it toasts great. We are very pleased with our replacement choice.

Its ok. Manual is sparse as to what buttons like “bagel” do. Seems to toast one side of the bread more than the other. Sliding the bread closer to the center of the toaster helps slightly.
