I returned 2 toasters. The first one did not toast very evenly.. Typically in one slot it would brown side evenly but almost burn the other side. In the other slot it would brown one side and do almost anything to the other. For a bagel it would toast the upper part and burn the lower part. Tried different settings got poor results every time. Got the same results with the second toaster.. I thought Cuisinart was a top brand. I've changed my mind.

Very insubstantially constructed toaster. In service now for about 2 months, and we're noticing some uneven toasting. I've seen other reviews note that most toasters, even much more expensive ones, share similar build quality and performance. That being the case, the Cuisinart does offer a reasonable value proposition.
