I bought this bread toaster for specific features like cancel, reheat, defrost and I'm happy with those functions. I'm still experimenting and struggling finding the correct number setting or sweet spot for browning breads. The other function that I struggle with is the bagel button. I would appreciate it if someone can tell me which way to insert the bagel or muffins when I use the bagel button and the expected results. I looked but couldn't find it in the user manual. When I read reviews from other toasters with bagel function, my understanding is that it would brown the cut side and keep the outside still soft but partly toasted.

This toaster is very good, better than the Breville model that it replaced. Be aware that it works best when both slots have bread inserted so if you're making one slice, cut it in two. The other downfall is that the slots are not that big so if you buy a large loaf of bread it doesn't fit well. It does toast evenly, once I figured out it really needs two slices to toast a balanced piece of toast. It had very high ratings where I first discovered it. It didn't really turn out to be as fabulous as they raved.

We really like it! I appreciate that it is cool to the touch as we put it away after use. My only suggestion for improvement is to make it a bit louder when it pops up. We don't hear it sometimes!

First time I used this unit, I was trying to toast some frozen waffles. Took much longer than it did in my old toaster and one side was burned and the other side was not even toasted. So much for a new toaster.

This was a very inexpensive toaster and it's performance supports that fact. I am most disappointed with the bagel setting. On every other toaster I've had, the bagel setting only toasts one side, not the rounded side. But the bagel setting on this one toasts both sides and often burns the bagel as that setting on this toaster means that it adds extra time to the toasting cycle. Makes no sense. Although I do like the look of the toaster and it's compact size, I would not not have purchased it if had know how the bagel setting worked.

I am a little disappointed in the toaster because I needed to return the first one I purchased because the lever would not stay down. The replacement toaster is working ok, however the browning time is slow. Slower than the same model Cuisinart I previously owned. I purchased it because I needed a “white” toaster & they are hard to find. But as a single person household, it is ok.
