It has nice features like the reheat and the Bagel setting, but I bought based on other reviews and my experience has not been as good. No matter what setting, it toasts more on one side than the other, so uneven. On lightest setting, one side doesn't toast at all while the other is lightly toasted. On medium setting, one side burns while the other is perfect.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Could not get the toaster to toast on both sides of the bread slice satisfactorily. Setting 2 to 3 would toast the inside of the slice ok, but nothing on the outside. Any higher setting the outside would be partially ok, but the inside of the slice would be burned.

I got his a few weeks ago and it is working great. It's simple and attractive. However, my last one only worked great for a couple of years. then I used it just toasting one side of the bread for several more years. I decided to try again, so hopefully this one lasts longer.

It toasts, just not altogether reliably. The temp dial is wonky, not very trustworthy. Let's say you're making four pieces of toast, all the same bread. The first two in... probably too light, so you push it down again and probably get a pretty dark pair. Put the next two pieces in and even without resetting the dial... wow, that's dark! So, what's with that?
