Fine appliance except for...

I purchased and installed this product about a year ago (along with other-Whirlpool appliances) as part of a major kitchen remodel. It has met or exceeded expectations in terms of performance and I still marvel at the sensor feature.However, there is one major flaw that has nothing to do with performance: Although the unit has a timer, there is no apparent delay-start function, which enables coordination of microwave cooking times with conventional oven cooking times. Even my pre-historic countertop unit, which this unit replaced, had this feature.A delay-start capabilty has come to be a common feature of even low-end microwave ovens so I can only wonder what the designer(s) were thinking when they left this out. For this reason alone, I could not recommend purchase of this model since the delay-start feature is essential for anyone who uses a microwave for more than casual reheating.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

this is a fully functional microwave, i am pleased with it.i am sorry we were not told when it was put in by the people we purchased it from that it was to deep for our opening, and we did not realized this at time of installation that the the vent would be exposed.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I have never had a microwave die this quickly. I would not purchase unless you like replacing your appliances every year or 2.

looks like a box sticking out too far

We were prepared for the fact that this unit was going to stick down lower than the previous Whirlpool we installed 16 years ago, and we even knew that it was likely to stick out slightly more because of the "hidden" front vent - but we didn't even consider that Whirlpool would design a microwave to stick fully three inches forward of a standard cupboard. The boxiness of the hidden vent and the unexpected increased depth compared to our earlier model makes it look like the microwave is not an integral part of the kitchen.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I find the 1.7 cu. ft. Microwave-Range Hood Combination easy to use.I like the different features. This is my first microwave-range hoodcombo and I love it.

We have had this microwave for about a year and have not had any problems with it. The capacity is great, it looks nice and heats well. I do not use any of the "features", usually just manually set a time and that's it. It is a bit loud but it doesn't bother us
