Sleek efficient oven

The look and efficiency of this microwave oven is superior. I especially like the capability of choosing the exact number of seconds I want to use. It makes cooking and warming much easier.

Fan is annoying

When we purchased a new home, this microwave was already installed, so we didn't have a choice of appliances. In general I have been happy with this microwave, with the exception of the vent fan. The vent fan is quite loud and automatically turns itself on high when it thinks it needs to be on, usually when I am boiling a pot of pasta. I can find no way to turn it off. I've tried setting it on low as soon as I start a pot boiling on the stove, but the vent fan will automatically switch to high when the pot is at full boil. It will keep running until it decides that it's cool enough to turn off, which is especially annoying when we are ready to eat dinner and can't turn it off. It will continue to run another 5-10 minutes after everything on the stove under it is turned off. Having conversations in the kitchen without shouting is impossible while this fan is running!
