Some design flaws

This microwave is great for cooking, but has some design flaws. The vent fan is on top of the microwave, not bottom, so the steam from boiling water on the oven condenses on the face of the microwave creating a big mess. It has lots of features, but they take so long to program I usually just end up punching in the time.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Bought this 2 months ago when our previous Whirlpool microwave of 10 years stopped working. Miss the 1-5 minute feature buttons. I was disappointed that the person who helped us install it had to drill all new holes in our cupboard because Whirlpool had changed the spacing of the support bolts and changed where the electrical cord came out of the microwave. The glass plate had even been changed so I couldn't save the old one in case of breakage. I do like the microwave and use it many times in a day.

I love my new over-the-range microwave! Mine had always sat on the counter before taking up valuable space. So far its great but its very basic.

Our microwave looks and preforms great. It close to a year old and has preformed well. It iis used several time a day. We also have Whirlpool dishwasher.

A pretty basic Microwave. Large amount of room inside. Door handle gets very hot when cooking on range below. Both fan settings are louder than expected.

Not so great

This unit was installed with my home and after only 2 years of light use started having problems. First, the microwave wouldn't register that the door was closed. However, opening and closing the door a few times usually resolved this problem. Then, one day the microwave started drawing excess current, causing the breaker to trip. I uninstalled that same day, luckily, because as I removed the power plug from the outlet, sparks started flying.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Great microwave!

We needed a replacement in a hurry - so I researched features and prices of microwaves available at our local stores. This one had the most value (features to price) that we were looking for.We installed it ourselves, which was "OK" - it would have been better if the mounting brackets from our old one would have worked for this one, but I am guessing the change of manufacturers caused this issue (sigh). However, once installed, the microwave has been great!I am an avid popcorn eater, and it does a great job with that! It has many additional features my old one did not have, and is rather intuitive to operate. The reminder beep is loud enough, but not overly annoying. The door opens easily (old one was a much harder tug to open), lots of interior space, very happy with this purchase!Would definitely recommend to others!
