Great Quality for the Price

I bought this one in a hurry to replace one that died. I paid half as much for this one as I did for the one that died after just two years (not a Whirlpool). This unit has all the features you could want in an over the range microwave. I like that it is not so heavy, My husband and I are seniors and we installed it ourselves following the good instructions that were provided. It works great, and I use a lot of the automatic settings, e.g..beverage warming, cooking bacon, potatoes, etc. I LOVE the butter soften/melt feature. It is so handy when making cakes/cookies that call for butter. My only complaint is the wheel "thingy" upon which the plate rests as it revolves. It is shaped like at triangle instead of a circle and it is a little noisy, though not a deal breaker. That prompted my rating of average rather than good on the design.

OTR Whirlpool Microwave (Black)

I was so happy to find this unit in all black and with all the functions that came with. The rest of my kitchen appliances are black and I wanted to keep everything in sync. I was able to start using the unit right away. The control panel is so intuitive, I haven't needed the instructions yet! :-)

Very nice microwave

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We wanted a basic microwave oven and this fits the bill. It works well, is quiet, and has an attractive, sleek appearance. My only complaint is that it lacks a beverage button. Otherwise it's perfect for our needs.
