Amazingly effective, surprisingly quiet.

We purchased this because our family suffers from allergies. Despite regular brushing of our dog’s fur and daily vacuuming, we were all suffering from itchy eyes and runny noses. Not 24-hours after turning the BlueAir Classic 403 on, we were all noticing a huge difference in our symptoms.
Knowing the volume of air this thing cycles through, I was expecting it to be noisy. I couldn’t have been more wrong. Even on the highest setting, it is no louder than a normal oscillating fan. On the second highest setting, I had to check that it was still on!
It is pricey but I would say that it is well built and will last for many years. Think of it as a multiple year investment in your health.

I bought this 6 weeks ago, plugged it in and within a few hours I could tell difference in air quality. The next day clearer air was even more noticeable... my husband and I stopped waking up in the middle of the night with stuffy noses...will buy a bigger unit for our family room in the Fall...

I've learned about the Blueair products through a friend who suffered from very bad allergies all his life. He recommended this product for years. I wanted to buy but initially it was not on my budget. But now that I have my elderly parents with me at home I invested in 2 of them because family matters. I am very happy to have this product. I thought 2 would be too much because of noise but you don't hear it at all. Literally, it is extremely quiet. I have another air purifier (gifted) in my bedroom but it doesn't compare to this. I am planning to buy another one for my living room and hoping for a future nursery (crossing fingers!).

Bring back the old Blueair 400 series!

This works, but not as well as the original 400 series, mainly because the Dual Protection filters required don't work nearly as well as the original SmokeStop filters. Additionally, the app is terrible and we can't get it to work on wifi (and we actually have really good wifi).
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

In addition please know that the new Dual Protection filter has the same amount of carbon as the old SmokeStop filters, the only difference is the way the carbon is engineered inside of the filter. Our team has found a way to make the carbon less weighted down so air flow is not effected during the filtration process.

I had a Blueair 301. It ran all day and all night, every day for 15 years. The only reason I’m not using it now is that Blueair stopped making replacement filters for it. I’m happy to have the 403. I trust it will be every bit as reliable!

I hvae been using HEPA filters in my home for over 20 years. The Classic 403 is my favorite yet. High Quality and high volume fresh air. Cleans entire room quickly and keeps it smelling fresh.
