Noisier than expected

I have an Austin Air unit that's been running continuously in my studio for two years.  I wanted something quieter for my bedroom, so I went with the Blueair 403.  When new, the Blueair was indeed extremely quiet on the lowest two speed settings.  After about three months of continuous use, the fan has developed some annoying noises, nothing major that would warrant service, but enough to no longer be considered all that quiet.  It's now on-par with my Austin Air, and I actually prefer the even sound of the Austin as opposed to the vibrating sound of the Blueair.
One other drawback is the INTENSE blue LED light on the Blueair.  Not good for a bedroom at night!  There are no casters for rolling the unit to a new location (it's pretty heavy).  I'm not sold on the form factor either.  It works well in some locations and not so great in others.  The Austin Air, on the other hand, has no lights, has casters, and is a nice square shape.
Actual build quality of the Blueair is quite good.  I have yet to exchange filters (not yet reached six months) so I can't comment on that.  Six month intervals does seem excessive though.

Easy, simple and powerful

I couldn't be happier with my purchase. When it arrived to my home all I had to do was plug it in, turn the knob to the lowest setting and walk away. I can sleep easier knowing that it is keeping me and my family breathing safely.

Very Quiet

I bought the 403 last year and am pleased with the overall functionality of the product. Replacing the air filter is extremely easy and it is completely quiet and has some sound when the unit is set to the highest level. I live up in the second floor of a home basically an attic with a tremendous about of dust so I need to run it at the highest speed when I am not home. Overall I am pleased with the product.

An excellent air purifier

We've been using the Blueair in our bedroom and in my husband's office for several years now.  It's not only effective at keeping our air free of dust and dog hair (3 German Shepherds, and they all sleep in the bedroom), but it is wonderfully quiet.  We would not switch to another air purifier for anything!
I would recommend this to a friend!

Awesomely Quiet

I have been using my Blueair air purifier for several years now without any issues of any sort; it is one of the best clean air investments I have ever made for my home. It operates in my bedroom because my cats (whom I am allergic to) sleep there too. It is awesomely quiet and that is an extremely important feature to me as I am a very light sleeper. I cannot imagine having a good night's sleep without it. When it finally wears out, I will replace it by another Blueair product, without question.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Clean air above Broadway

Changing the filter reveals all the grunge I didn't breathe, which is comforting. I'm not a smoker, but use the smokers filter to remove smells & fumes. Love it!

I've had this sleek machine for several years and think it is just wonderful. Blue Air is a great company with the added benefit of having the filter club so I don't have to keep track of when to change the filter.

Very quiet!

I bought a 400 series air purifier for my mother approx. three years ago and it has worked flawlessly. She was unable to sleep at night, but now can get a good nights sleep due to the air purifier. Quiet and efficient!
