This product came exactly as described and was easy to use straight from the box after initial charge. My 6 year old son loves how easy it is to use, the playful tones when it's time to move from one area to another, and the changeable faceplate. He is now more motivated to brush his teeth with a toothbrush just like moms!
We used to have a battery operated toothbrush for our daughter. After 3 months (and many batteries) it was time to buy a new one. We saw the Sonicare for Kids and bought it immediately. We have several Sonicare toothbrush users in our home. We were happy to find one for our youngest child. This product delivers the same high quality cleaning we experience with our adult version. The only suggestion we have is to make the replacement heads available by size as opposed to the mixed pack.
Pros: fun for kids, encourages good brushing habits
Cons: mixed brush size replacement packs

Keeps my son's cavities at bay

We started using this brush with my son when he was about 2 1/2 years old, at the recommendation of a dentist. (My son has had trouble with dental caries since a baby, despite meticulous care and diet management on our part.) With this toothbrush and a daily regime of xylitol products the decay in our son's teeth did not progress. The vibration sensation is something my son is still not crazy about and I have to brush his teeth since he's still too young (now nearly 4) to be thorough. But he tolerates it fine and the beeps that announce the stages of the brushing help him have the patience to hang in there since he knows exactly how much longer it will be.
The only reason I didn't give an "excellent" on performance is that we had to replace our first Sonic Kid's brush after less than one year due to the metal mounting stalk (my words) coming a loose. One day it was fine, next day it wasn't. The brush was carefully handled and we felt the brush is too expensive to fail so soon after purchase. We love the brush so much though we bought another one and we are hoping this one will last longer. (So far, so good.) In terms of the functioning of the brush while it IS working--it has amazing battery life, it's easy to operate, easy to hold, is squared on one side so it won't roll off a counter or sink if set down flat, etc. Very well designed toothbrush. We have our fingers crossed that this one will last longer since we are a one income family and can't afford, on top of the expense of the brush heads, to also replace the expensive brush handle at regular intervals.
My husband and I also switched to a Phillips sonic toothbrush (we share one brush body, using different heads) and when I go to the dentist my hygienist always remarks how good my home care is. In the "old days" I could tell a big difference in my teeth after a professional clean. Now after using the Phillips sonic brush my teeth have that slick professional clean feeling all the time. (Although I still go for regular cleanings of course.)
We've used other automated cleaning brushes (Braun) and the Phillips brushes are clearly of superior design and function. But they are expensive.
Pros: easy to use, long battery life, stages marked by beeps
Cons: longevity, cost

Great for the difficult kid!

Because toothbrushing is not one of my 10 y.o. son's favorite things to do (can you hear the whining?) this definitely makes things easier on all of us! I also use it. It's very simple to use and I feel confident that both my son and I are cleaning effectively. The musical tones help cue the young user to brush the next section of his/her teeth instead of having to rely on mom to stand by and watch the clock. It definitely makes it more fun and I would think gives the very young ones more independence. There are two tone ranges /speeds: one for little ones that has a shorter duration tone sequence/slower speed and a longer tone sequence/faster speed for the bigger kids. It also has interchangeable decorative skins (face plates) that are included.
Pros: like the cueing tones, changeable skins/face plates, easy to use, ensures good cleaning
Cons: replacing brushes can get expensive (but worth it)
He did not like getting his teeth brush but now he does it on his own. My husband and I have the sonicare and he loved holding it for us, so when I saw this at his dentist office, we went for it. So glad we did!

This product is superb. My daughter doesn't fight with me any longer about brushing her teeth twice a day; she even goes ahead to brush her teeth before I ask her to since she stated using this product.
Pros: timer music, different speeds, decorative stickers, doesn't need batteries!
