Too difficult to change brush heads, base does not last

I purchased 3 Sonicare for Kids toothbrushes. The brush heads are too hard for children to pull off. The metal pin on the base that the brush heads attach to has become so loose on two of them within 4 to 6 months of purchase that we can no longer use them. On the third purchase, we cannot remove the brush heads without using something to lever them off. After the third purchase we did get one base replaced free of charge from Sonicare but I would not purchase another Sonicare Kids toothbrush.
My dentist recommended this toothbrush for my daughter who is about to get braces. Works great at keeping her teeth in good shape. Wish it had the sterilizer like another adult model to help keep it free of germs.
alas, the product seems fine, but my daughter doesn't like it and so refused to use it after the first week. Not sure why. We'll try again in a month or so.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Hello,
We’re sorry for the disappointing experience you’ve had with Sonicare toothbrush.
Philips Sonicare brushes are designed to work in your mouth without too much effort on your part.
You may follow the below given guidelines to use the product.
1. Wet the bristles and apply a small amount of toothpaste. 2. Place the toothbrush bristles against the teeth at a slight angle towards the gumline. 3. Press the power on/off button to turn on the Sonicare. 4. Apply light pressure to maximize Sonicare’s effectiveness and let the Sonicare toothbrush do the brushing for you. 5. Gently move the brush head slowly across the teeth in a small back and forth motion so the longer bristles reach between your teeth. 6. Continue this motion throughout your brushing cycle.
Tips for use: Before switching the toothbrush on, place the bristles of the brush head on your gum line at a 45-degree angle.
1.Close your mouth as much as needed to prevent toothpaste splattering. Turn the brush on. 2.Hold the handle with a light grip. Do not grip the handle, but hold in gently at the edges. Switch the toothbrush on, and glide the brush across your teeth, gently, allowing the brush to do the work. 3.To maximize effectiveness apply only light pressure and let the toothbrush do the brushing for you. 4.Do not scrub. 5.To make sure you brush evenly throughout the mouth, divide your mouth into 4 sections using the Quadpacer feature.
Hope this helps.

My husband and I bought a Sonicare toothbrush for ourselves over a year ago and have absolutely LOVED it! So about six months ago I splurged and purchased the Sonicare for Kids for our four year old and eight year old. Ours is still working great, but the kids didn't hold up. The top silver part appears to have broken loose and just swivels around, makes a horrible racket and does not brush the kids teeth as it should. While I loved it initially and it did do a great job when it worked properly - I would have thought for the money it would have lasted much longer - as mine has. Next purchase will be the less expensive battery operated ones.

My children are 12 and 10. They love this tooth brush. They both like that it beeps to tell them when to move from one section to another...even at this age. It really helps them get a more thorough clean! It's not a fight to get them to brush anymore!

This is a great toothbrush for children. I feel like it gets the teeth much cleaner than if they were to manually brush by far!

I like this toothbrush. My son has cerebral palsy so i wanted him to be independent and feel big and get the job done. It has been great for him.
Pros: great for kids
Cons: the brush moves swiftly and splatters if mouth is, open. kind of messy.
