Cooler Laptop

I got one of the Lap Chill Mats (AWE55) when my laptop started overheating and shutting down. From the moment I plugged the Chill Mat in, the laptop was much cooler. Now it doesn't shut down and the bottom surface is only warm to the touch when it was almost too how to keep my hand on it before. This product is great! I chose this one since my laptop has a larger screen and this one fits it perfectly.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I have had this product for almost a month. It has a very nice style, but the USB cord keeps shorting out and the fans stopped working completely. Now this cooling board is simply a prop. If you are going to use this product on a daily basis I would not recommend it.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Light and Comfortable

This is just what I was looking for in a laptop mat. It has a clean design, light, and angled very well for laptop use. The cooling fans are so quiet you can't tell if they are working.
Areas for improvement are actually making one for a 17" laptop. The packaging says "up to 17" - my laptop is larger that the mat. Second, the rubber stops to don't align to my 17" so it slips and has no stop. Finally, the fan USB cord could be configured better to store it when not needed. As is, it need to be held down by the laptop.

Overall, a very great product

I've been using this laptop cooler for 6 months now, and it is still working perfectly for me. It fits my 15" widescreen laptop just right; the fans are very quiet, but are definitely strong enough to keep my laptop cool (and I keep it on for at least 8 hours every day). I love the slanted surface - working on the couch couldn't be any more comfortable!
I do have to say that the rubber grips don't exactly keep my laptop from slipping though. Also, the positioning of the USB cord makes it easy to get caught. Those are my only 2 suggestions for improvements.
Otherwise, a very great product for everyday use!
I would recommend this to a friend!

this lap chill mat performs well and meets my expectation. it cools and ventilates my 17" laptop very well that my laptop does not overheat and shutdown anymore. i highly recommend this 40 dollar accessory.
Pros: good product for the price

Just got this mat and I love it!

I only received this mat today and I'm very happy with it. I like that it tilts the keyboard so I don't have to struggle to type and it's pretty comfortable on my lap. I can hear the fan but it's not loud. It's more of a background noise than anything.
Pros: tilted so it's comfortable to type, quiet, comfortable to use on my lap

As a grad student, I'm constantly doing research, or typing papers. My laptop runs warm to hot most of the time. This works perfectly, and have noticed that it keeps the laptop cool no matter how long it runs. If there is one thing that concerned me, it is the power cord, which is way to long for my 17" laptop. To keep it from getting caught on things, I duct taped it so that it will run through the inside to the closest USB port.
Pros: does what it promises to do
Cons: too long a cord-should come from the inside of mat
