I purchased this a number of years ago. And the first thing I did was disassemble and flip the fans over so they blow air into the intake. Instead of drawing air away from the intake. It makes no sense to me to have the CPU fan drawing air through the intake while the "Chill Mat" is pulling air away from the intake. The fans were effectively fighting each other. I'm about to remove the original fans, integrate a USB hub and install higher flowing/quieter fans. One of my laptops has (2) USB ports. Which makes things a little inconvenient at times.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Does work great until the fans stop working

Within about 3 months the fans stopped working, I want another.

Needs a small design improvement

I am on my second AWE55US chill mat. The mat is very ergonomic, light, and transportable. Unfortunately, both have failed in the exact same way in exactly the same spot. The top and bottom plastic surfaces developed a stress crack at the edges around the midway point.
I would like to suggest a design improvement:
Put a post between the top and bottom plates on each side to add additional support. That will prevent the plastic from flexing when the chill mat is picked up to carry it with the laptop on it.
This small improvement will go a long way in making the product last longer. This will also take Chill Mat from 2 stars to 5 (or 10 if that was an option),

Awesome

My 17" laptop gets hot enough after half an hour to have the fan kick on high gear. I never take it off my desk so i bought this. i accidentally left my laptop on when I went to bestbuy to buy this so I just picked up the laptop and placed this under it. plugged it in and within 5 minutes the fan on my laptop went down to low gear and I've never heard it go back to high gear witch never happens after its been on that long. With both laptop on low gear and the chill mat fan on its quieter than the laptop fan on high gear. I'm very impressed with this product.
High quality product and I love the quiet cooling fan! Yes I would recommend to a friend!

Not Worth It

The product worked great for the first three months but then it died. It’s not worth the money I paid for it.

Two tries, two fails

I bought this chill mat last winter, and within three months, one of the fans stopped working. I hoped it was a fluke, and bought a second chill mat ... and THREE WEEKS later, one of the fans on the second purchase stopped working. I won't be fooled again. Save your money and buy something else.

Finally ! ! The best cooler yet.

Having had laptop coolers before, this one excels in all areas. Nothing on the market that I have seen yet can beat this one.
