GOOD MACHINE, EXPENSIVE INK
on February 16, 2015

BOTH THUMBS UP! For the price, it’s a bargain!
Be aware that inkjet printers --as a class-- make it shockingly pricey to print at approx. $0.043/pg.
Note: I have owned this printer for only one day so I can’t speak for its reliability or durability yet.
PROS + Comparatively inexpensive. + Easy & quick to unpack and make ready for use. + Easy & quick to install the software using the CD provided, w/o using a USB (using Windows 7 on a 64-bit Dell Laptop). + Operating noise level while printing is Moderate at around 37 decibels; which I find very acceptable. +Small and compact (mine sits on a small living room chairside/end table) it holds 100 sheets of paper in the feeder and can print 99 copies. + Print quality is good. Black text is solid and crisp. (Only tried the print and the copy features so far.)
CONS Two Complaints with the proviso, “It is what it is”. 1. The ink is EXPENSIVE and all 4 inks are always used even for just plain black text. 2. This little printer is an ‘ink-aholic’. It’s approx. $0.043 a page to print b/w only text as it uses all 4 colors to print just black and which is why it won’t print at all if even just one of the 4 ink cartridges is empty. (Note: Printing cost was calculated using the High-Capacity cartridges 200XL from the Epson On-Line Store)
All-in-all, I recommend purchasing this printer.

EPSON XP-310 is a great Printer for your own personal use and you don't need one of those Office machines for big industry. It's fast, convenient, trustworthy, and easy to use. It's easy to replace Ink Cartridges, when needed, also. If you keep it updated, like I do, on your computer, you will have a Printer that will be there when you need to keep those important papers & documents on file. EPSON always makes the best in Printers.

Quality and Value. Just what I expected. Form, fit and function as described. Easy set-up; however, Start Here instruction step 5 slightly confusing. Suggest 5a Wireless Connection and 5b Direct USB Connection. Nevertheless, once I inserted the CD everything went smoothly.
