Must have Color Ink to Print in Black and White

I used up the magenta color and could not get the printer to print in just black and white text without replacing the magenta ink. Not good to discover when you suddenly need something printed urgently.
However, the quality of printing has been good, it prints fast, the scanner works great, it has good and easy to understand settings, and the cost of the printer was very low, the ink cost is where their makeing their money.

I have used this printer for 6 months.At first it worked just fine. Now when I try to print a picture the paper doesn't continuously feed. It starts to print the picture and then it doesn't feed and the print heads keep printing going over and over the same area. When printing text at times it now skips a line. Very disconcerting.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Printer does not copy black. You have to scan document to computer then hit print for it to copy in black. Worst printer I have bought. All the things that were suggested did not fix the problem. Also, the ink level goes down even though it doesn't print anything on the paper. Then you will have to put in a new cartridge even though the one you have in is full. Not good.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Impressive for inexpensive printer

I bought this printer because my previous printer quit working and I wanted a printer that worked well with printing from my iPhone and iPad. I got a lot more than I expected.
Not only does it work flawlessly from my iPad and iPhone, it is quiet and fast. Most of the time I question if I have remember to push print because I don't hear it printing. And, I have printed long documents (20+ pages) and expected it to take a while to print and been surprised when I get to the printer and it is already finished.
I haven't been through a lot of ink yet, but so far it seems to be reasonable on ink usage and thus, ink cost.
I would recommend this to a friend!

My little printer

Well, I waited a short time to write this so I could get to know my printer better. I have now replaced just the black ink so far, and so far, so good. I am pleased with my little home printer/scanner at this time especially for the price! I heard horror stories, i.e. the ink replacement more expensive than just buying a new printer, etc...but have come to no fruition, knock on wood! I like my printer, it meets my individual needs! Thumbs up!

I was very pleased with Epson...my printer failed within a year and within a week i received my replacement 310. It is easy to use and I am very happy with the service that I received. THANK YOU EPSON

The printer is great.
The ink cartridges do not last very long though & the owners manual does not come with a scanner disk to operate that function.
