Good, until you run out of ink

I bought black ink, because I needed to print in black and white... turns out (after researching for about 2 hours), that you need other colors to print in black even if you change your settings. With this being said, I wouldn't have wasted my money on buying just a black cartridge and would have bought the combo pack instead. This is simply ridiculous to me since there are 5 different colors. Now, I have to go back to the store and DOUBLE BUY ink. This whole situation could have been avoiding if the company mentioned it anywhere on their website. Instead, they simply say to change your settings to the gray scale which DOES NOT WORK.

This is a horrible printer for home use. I wish i could return it. If you don't use it at least once every other day... the once filled ink will dry up and becomes useless. The cartridges are already overpriced to replace. I replaced the black ink, now every page is coming out with black smears across of it. I've ran all the maintenance applications, but it's still apparent on every print out. I wouldn't even bother attempting to print a photo! The ONLY thing going for this printer is the ease of wifi setup.

Drains Ink

The printer itself is very nice. I love the WiFi feature. On the other hand, the ink is horrible. I just replaced all four cartridges yesterday, and just 12 (twelve) (TWELVE!!!) black and white pages later, I am out of black ink. I may have well gone to a print shop to print what I needed for much cheaper. If I could return the printer, I would. The cost of ink to print so little is not worth it.

thought we were purchasing a quality machine that would decrease our overall printing expense... definately not true! although the oem epson cartridges for this machine are relatively inexpensive to purchase new from local retailers, we have to find them in stock first (problem #1). we can print maybe 75 pages utilizing color or black & white only with the draft quality setting per cartridge set (typically 2 blacks to 1 each of the colors) (problem #2), and unless you have all 4 cartridges properly inserted and full enough ink to operate the machine will not print... you can not print black & white if one of the colors is low/empty (problem #4). since encountering these issues i have read multiple reviews and responses on the 4 problems we have with the machine. i now know that the machine uses all 4 ink cartridges regardless of what you select in the settings; ink is also used when the machine displays "charging" which happens whenever any of the cartridges are replaced or when the machine loses power for whatever reason; if the print heads are cleaned then the machine again uses all of the ink cartridges; and if the machine utilizes one color more frequently than the other 3 colors (ie: black ink versus colored ink for printing) then the machine is preprogrammed to automatically clean the printing heads to prevent the lesser used cartridges from clogging, which means again using more ink! the convience features and size of the machine are great, however had i know of all the unnecessary ink usage issues that do not seem to be correctable i would have purchased a different machine or just continued to buy the more costly cartridges for one of our other 3 older model printers. we only purchased a new machine because the others seemed to be printing slower and using an excessive amount of ink... or so we thought until we started using this machine! two of our older machines overall printed much more quickly and provided us the same quality and many of the same features but the ink cartridges were more expensive and the machines were larger.
rather unsatisfied with this machine overall!

Epson xp-320

I bought my xp-320 simply because I needed an inexpensive all in one printer with decent life expectancy. So far the epson xp-320 has met those expectations. My only issue is that if I don't print anything for a few weeks I have to go through all the maintenance routine's and probably replace the ink cartridges just to get it to print again.

I am not very technical minded. I bit of a problem understanding the method for wireless pairing of the printer and the pc. Other than that I am happy with the performance.

Worse setting, waste of ink and time ever

I bought this printer due to the brand. I had a cheaper one before and never complained until it couldn't work after 5 years reliably serving me. I had used the Epson for around a year and had lots of problems: 1- the ink cartridges empty quick; 2- if the printer didn't have the whole set of 4 color cartridges full of ink on, the printer didn't work even though you had the black cartridge brand new; 3- Having the 4 four deposits full of ink I had to dismount and mount them every time I wanted to print; 4- Then, the worst was when I had to set up the printer for full-quality, full-color, very-dark print for one page that lasted ages to print out until 5- It didn't work any more and left to waste one brand new cartridge into the trash. I just gave the one start rating because the machine fortunately still can scan. For the records, I seldom used it for the time I had it.
