Epson Small in One

I have always loved Epson products, service, support, quality, and English-speaking phone contacts. I have a WF600 4 in 1 for my desktop computer, but needed a smaller one for my laptop. Imagine my surprise when I was told they had just the thing for me: a SMALL in One! Price was right, setup was easier than I could have imagined, and I will continue to love Epson products for as long as I can use them. Thank you so much - dealing with Epson has been, and continues to be a consummate pleasure in every way.

So far I am pleased with my little printer. I haven't had any problems. When I first purchased it I was told that my ink would cost me as much as just buying a new one, this turned out to be false. I have only bought black ink and it was fairly cheap compared to others!

Instructions for Wireless Setup
on November 15, 2014
Posted by: Beth

I do not understand why the instructions say use a cable for first installation to make wireless easier to set up.
How do I set up wireless now?
I am successfully set up on the cable.
Otherwise, I am very pleased with the printer.

The Epson Expression Home XP-310 is a nice size.
It wasn't too expensive. It was pretty easy to get it on my computer. It prints out very well, especi-
ally off my computer. I like that it doesn't take too much room. I am glad that I ordered it and would really recommend it if someone needs a printer. However, I have to get used to not having
the buttons on top to put it on and off and to print
and to change the ink. But, in general, it is a good
printer.

The users guide didn't help as much as it should have, however, I called Tech Support and they we able to help me solve my problem (restore default settings) in a very short time. I probably could have figured this out on my own, but it would have taken forever.

Epson XP-310 Wireless Printer
on December 1, 2014

Normally I do not write a review but hopefully this review will help others to not experience the frustration that I encountered in setting up this printer as a wireless printer.
Overall the printer is lightweight and easy to carry from one room to another. Once you have the printer setup as wireless, printing is fast. It's just takes time to set it up as a wireless printer.
Okay, to setup as a wireless printer: You have to first read the direction and connect the printer to your computer with a USB connection. This will be temporary.
I have a Linksys router that has a SSID but also has a wireless password. The installation recognized the SSID but never prompted for the password. This caused the installation setup to fail. The drivers were installed but the printer was not hooked into the network (Linksys). I then had to enter the password manually into the printer and then I printed the network specs out so I could get the IP address. Once this was done, I tried adding the printer as a network printer but this did not work. My laptop could not find the printer. After several frustrating hours, I called support (562-276-4382).
Support had me go into Control Panel----->Devices and Printers, and right click on the Epson XP-310 and then select to remove it. Okay.
Support then had me add the printer as a local printer with options to do not share printer and options to add to a manual port. If you don't see your printer, then select manual port and click enter or select or whatever button. You will then need to enter the IP Address from the printer (hopefully you took a printout). If you see your printer, then click on your printer. In either case, the port should start with "Epson.......".
After that point, the prompts were easy. However, the printer still would not print. I had to go to the printer and select the network option and re-enter the password. Then I had to remove the printer from the Device and Printers (Control Panel) and start over. This time the printer worked.
I started getting missing mscvcr80.dll errors and runtime errors. I finally opened up the printer properties and found the page where it had software updates or it was driver updates. I decided to go that route in hopes that it would correct the problem. The installation started over and when it got to the page that stated first time installation or the printer is already on the network, I selected the printer is already on the network. So far, I'm not getting the errors anymore.
Printing quality. There are four print cartridges with this printer, very slender cartridges. I've opted just to print in grey tone to save on the color. I've yet to find the page to print a test page.
The printer has a copy feature and a scanner feature. There is no fax feature so you wouldn't be able to plug in a phone jack. That's not a problem for me because I have another printer that I couldn't get to work as Wi-Fi but it would work as a fax and copier.
Haven't tried out all the features but I think I will be happy with this printer for the amount of printing I will do.
I hope my comments will help someone to setup their printer as a wireless with less time that it took me.

Previous brand was so much harder to run. But this exceeds them. Was so easy to set up to laptop, and wireless. Finely instructions that were so easy to follow. As a 80 year old senior, thank you.
