Not as good as ai expectted

Was looking forward to the stainless steel carafe but performance is not the best. We have found that the coffee temperature is not as hot to begin with as our previous maker and the carafe does not seem to hold the heat resulting in “warm” coffee for later cups.

bought this to replace one of the same model that "died" after being used daily. love the re-usable coffee basket and the way it keeps the coffee warm and not bitter. wish I would have bought a 12 cup model, though

I bought this coffeemaker to replace an identical one that was 7 years old, and suddenly quit working. The new pot is excellent, just like the old one; the carafe seems to hold its heat a little better than the original, but that may be my imagination. All the controls work well, the directions are straightforward; the coffee is hot and very good. Purists would probably object, but I set up the pot just before going to bed, and turn it to "Auto On." I may pay a price for letting the water and ground coffee sit all night before brewing in the morning, just as I get out of bed, but I really like having a cup of hot, fresh coffee waiting for me, as well as having the coffee aroma fill the kitchen.
I may have outsmarted myself with this purchase, as I bought the new coffeemaker when the old one kept shutting off after being "on" for only a few seconds. After setting up the new one, I decided to try cleaning up the old one, and at least keeping the carafe as a spare. I ran vinegar and water through it a couple of times in the "Clean" mode, and rinsed it twice. And, surprise! It worked fine. I realized I had not cleaned it for about 6 months, and stopped paying attention to the flashing "Clean" light. So, I'm keeping the old coffeemaker, and plan to use it when we have extra coffee drinkers for special events. I like the appearance of the new one, and will keep using it on a daily basis. Very satisfied customer.

This is my third cuisinart coffeemaker and my second favorite. The only thing I miss in this one is a burr grinder. I bought a cuisinart burr grinder to go with my new coffeemaker. It makes a delicious pot of coffee.
