For years I owned the original grind and brew, but was getting tired of having to clean so many pieces every single day!! I loved the idea of not having to add beans every night. I love the machine, and it definitely works well, however, I wish I could adjust the strength to be a little less strong than the lowest setting. I haven't figured out yet how to manage that so I fill the water tank with a little more than 12 cups and that helps to weaken the coffee somewhat. The recommended cleaning time is 7-10 days, but I clean it every 4 days because so much residue builds up in just that short amount of time. I don't mind cleaning every 4 days, it's better than every single day!

Had one for 3 years. It was great. New one not as good. Sometimes all the beans don’t grind. Also the insulated carafe does not keep the coffee very hot for very long

I bought this a month ago and I don't think I have made one pot of coffee that did not have coffee grounds in it. It doesn't matter whether I use the built in grinder, I grind myself, use the filter that came with it or use my own paper filter. It makes great pot of coffee, but I am just not a fan of grounds in my coffee.

This is almost a great coffee maker. And for the most part, it is a fine coffee maker if you make less than 8 cups of coffee. If you make 10 or more cups the grinds overflow and wind up in the carafe. When I make 12 cups, the last cup is to be avoided. There needs to be a change to the filter basket or a way for the filter holder to drain faster. I called the Cuisinart helpline and they had no suggestion.

This is a good machine, works as advertised. We like our coffee strong so we used the strength slider at the strongest setting, too strong, used too many beans. We backed off to the mid-level, still too strong. Now at the lightest level it makes a great cup of coffee.
