I had a grind and brew coffee maker before but with the blade and cup to chop the beans it required a lot of cleaning all the time. This new version with burr grind is great. Fill the water chamber with water and the bean bin with coffee, a filter in the brew chamber and off you go! Don’t have to measure coffee for each brew just set the number of cups and the strength of the coffee desired and the coffee maker does the rest with great results. Also, it can still be programmed to have perfect coffee waiting when you wake up.

I decided to splurge on a new all-in-one programmable coffee maker to replace one manufactured buy a different brand which had given up the ghost. I did very thorough research on different models and chose this particular one in part. Because of the Cuisinart brand , and also because it was described by other users as easy to clean. I have found that to be quite true; I am careful to brush and dust out the grinder path weekly and it's a snap to maintain. The machine makes excellent coffee. I particularly like the adjustable strength feature. I've had no problems with it at all. If I had to suggest one Improvement it would be a light or backlight for the clock and strength window which would make it much easier for those of us with some visual impairment to adjust the machine.

I bought this machine by ordering through the store, as there wasn't one in stock. Had I seen it and how it worked I would never have ordered it. But because I loved the previous style, and had used one for years, I ordered on past experience. This is the worst design for a grind and brew machine ever!! First, if you want fresh ground beans, why have a hopper to hold several days worth? The grinder is within the machine with no access for proper cleaning. You have to shove a brush into the grinder to wipe out coffee debris--very awkward, and you can't get all the coffee out. So it sits in there over time and goes rancid. The lid that covers the chute collects the ground coffee and packs it up so you have to clean it out with a little brush after each use. The instruction book says it's pre-set for medium grind, since setting it for a fine grind can result in clogging and overflow of the coffee from the basket during brewing. Well, it must be already set on a fine grind, since overflow is a common problem. And there is no way to change it. Why did you mess with the previous design, which worked great, had an easy to clean removable grinder, and didn't cause the overflow problems present with this new design? I paid so much for it, I feel I have to continue using it, but I would never buy this model again.. I am extremely disappointed with this design.

I bought this to replace an older grind and brew that I had for almost 7 years until while I was on vacation ants found their way into my home and set up their home in my coffee maker! So off it went to the trash despite it was still working and I decided to upgrade. I am so happy I did. I love the new features and that I don’t have to take the grinder part out to clean it everyday. The cleaning maintanance is easy. I’m very happy with my purchase and hope this new coffee maker outlasts it’s predecessor who met the untimely ant death.

You can use the bean hopper to grind and brew. Or you can use already ground coffee and bypass bean hopper. I preset mine so coffe will be ready when I wake up. The grind is a little loud. Only last a few seconds.

I bought the 12 cup with Burr grinder model and it works really good. My old expresso coffee maker only held 2-3 days worth of beans and this model holds up to 8 oz of beans lasting me a week or so without refilling. The grinder is a little less noisy then my old one and makes coffee more consistent in flavor and strength.I usually make 6 cups each am so have not had any problem with grinds overflowing the filter. The only small concern is that the numbers are somewhat hard to read in the display. I have owned many coffee pots in my 50+ years of making coffee and this one is at the top.
