This is my second Burr Grind & Brew 12 cup coffeemaker. I refuse to use another kind of product. For me, it makes GREAT COFFEE! I would and do recommend this coffeemaker to all who want a GOOD cup of freshly brewed coffee.

The coffee it produces is great. The problem is that when using oily beans, the filter chamber overflows over its lid and puts grounds and water all over the counter when using paper filters. It does fine when using the goldtone filter—however with sludge in the bottom of the pot. The same concerns when using ground coffee.

Unfortunately, I am waiting to return my coffeemaker because the hot plate won't stay on past the brewing cycle - but I have gotten a good response from Cuisinart and I'm sure that I'll have a new one to try. Otherwise, we love the grind and brew - lots less mess!
