Had to replace my old grind and brew from another company. Debated on whether or not to give the cuisinart a chance. Very glad that I did, an very pleased with it!

Please read thru the instructions very well. We thought we could figure it out without reading everything. We were wrong. Others have complained about clean up, but it is simple if you follow directions. If you follow instructions it is very easy to use and makes wonderful coffee. My wife is a coffee lover and insists that the beans cannot be removed from the bag and put into the hopper until just before using. She has seen that this will hold a weeks worth of beans and the coffee is as good as if if she made it with her old fashioned way of only loading the beans for the one pot at a time. She has grown to LOVE this machine. We have a vacation cabin and I think before long she will insist we buy another one of these for it. Expensive, but well worth the money.

I bought a grind and brew 10 years ago after about 8 years of service I decided to "upgrade" to. a Breville. The Breville never made coffee as flavorful and rich as the Cuisinart. Nor was the coffee ever as hot. It stopped working 30 days ago so I went back and bought a new Burr Grind and Brew and I am thrilled I did. By the way my original Burr Grind and Brew is still working daily in my office. It's been making a pot of coffee every day for 10 years now!

When it was time to replace our coffee maker, we upgraded from a Cuisinart Grind & Brew with blade grinder to this burr grind model. We love the coffee it makes and the simplicity of operation. With our old model, we had to measure the beans for each pot, and cleaning the blade grinder after every pot was a bit of a chore. With this model, the burr grinder stays dry, so it easy to clean with a brush. I typically brush it out when I refill the bean hopper a couple of times per week.
We also switched from a thermal carafe to a glass carafe with a hot plate. We were a bit nervous about the coffee getting "burnt" on the hot plate, but that hasn't been an issue, and the glass carafe pours much more easily than the thermal model.
It did take a few pots to dial in the right strength, but once we did, we discovered that the burr grinder also seems to use less beans that we did with the blade grinder.

I really like this coffee pot. The flavor is great. Easy to clean. I like that I can use beans or ground coffee. My one complaint is that the coffee is not hot enough when it is first made and even with warming carafe with boiling water before making the coffee, it is still too cool.
