This is my third edition of this wonderful appliance. Each one has come with improvements. Over many years I have depended on it to get my days off to an happy start. It is important to follow the cleaning instructions carefully to avoid problems. An easy task to trade for an excellent cup of coffee!

I purchased this coffee maker as a replacement for my Grind n Brew. I love the burr grinder - so much quieter. I have appreciated to larger hopper, and keep it full of beans. Brew strength is great.

This is a replacement for an earlier Cuisinart Grind and Brew. In the previous model, I had to add the coffee beans each time for one carafe of coffee. With this model, I can store enough beans for two or three pots. Less to clean each time. This model adds great features such as a warning when you haven't emptied the grounds from a previous brewing. That saved the occasion mess I made in the past when I would forget.

We buy whole bean dark roast and the same decaf when available and make our own 60/40 blend. We keep our beans frozen until time to make up a mixture for a refrigerated container. The coffee is always great. This is the 3rd iteration of this same model. The first one was a reconditioned maker and it stopped working. Since it was out of the shorter warranty we bought another which we used for some time but the heater stopped working with accompanying burning plastic smell. It was replaced under warranty with another reconditioned machine which came with the poorest packaging I ever saw and consequently it was severely damaged and had to be returned. That one was replaced with a new machine which is now in service and working beautifully. Good coffee every time.
The grind cycle is very noisy and loud but doesn't last very long. The brew cycle is fairly fast and if one is in a hurry, the machine will allow one to get a cup before the brew cycle is complete. It won't be the best that it can do, that will have to wait until the cycle has ended--not long. The chute that supplies the filter basket does get caked with ground coffee, probably caused by the oils in the bean so it is necessary to check that and clean as required. How often is a matter of how much one drinks. We find the permanent filter unsatisfactory as it is not fine enough and a mess to clean. We opt fot paper filters that work fine and with the wet coffee grounds will quickly deteriorate at the waste dump site--grounds to ground.

This is our 3td Brewgrinder and we like it very much but the reason we had to replace it is because the timer apparently failed and would shut off immediately when the coffee finished brewing, therefore would not keep coffee hot.
